Report Details
Fished quite a few areas on the 10th 11th and 12th this month started out at lewis & clark trail, then went to little beaver bay, then to white earth bay. All these places pretty much used the same bait worms, leaches, minows and some cut up carp. Through all these days fishing was pretty slow caught a white fish off a minow at lewis clark trail, then caught some perch at little beaver bay. Last placed we fished was white earth bay and this is where we caught the most fish, Caught one little walleye, 6 drum, 3 smallmouth, 1 carp, 1 catfish all off worms just using a hook and splitshot on bottom. Fishing right next to the baitshop, wish i knew were else to fish but am new out here to fishing because i live in colorado and fish while im out on the rig. If anyone has some ideas please let me know, hope this helps someone.

Kyle,

It is different fishing up this way for sure.  Different species, different tactics, different types of water.

If you are going to be around for awhile I'd strongly invest in reading online articles, getting some magazines that touch on walleye fishing and do some reading on the walleye species yourself.  Toss the same procedures toward northern pike too.

I say this because there is a lot to get up to speed on and it will take some effort on your part.  Folks will gladly help but you gotta get some background before you'll be able to properly learn.

Lots of You Tube videos, etc.  Hell, maybe the best idea for you is to head over to a guide service and get in with them especially right now out in Van Hook.  You can learn a lot in a little bit of time.

Of course, if you are going to be mostly shore fishing that might be a little different but you can ask question and still get a big picture.

Just thought I'd share.

Thanks for the info tim, I have been thinking about getting a guide out here just never know exactly when I will have a day off while im working. When i get a chance i think im going to go back out to white earth bay we seemed to have the best luck there and there is some nice shoreline to fish from the shore. Any recomended tactics to try while im there?
