I've stayed at and rented houses from Adrian's. Nice folks and they kept their houses on fish.

Look into Sportsmans Lodge or Arnesons. I have stayed at Sportsmans and it is very accomodating and I have heard good things about both companies icefishing shacks and ability to put you on fish. Cant go wrong with either; sorry dont know about the above posted companies.

I have stayed at pretty much each resort up there. I am pretty loya to the river bend. they do agreat job of moving there hosues to stay on the fish. you can always tell if the houses are on fresh ice by the garbage outside and what the holes look like, and the nice urine tracks out side. They also have great food and a sweet bar. They take very good care of thier clients also. I was up at a sdrians his year also. They are also a clas a act. Good luck Rasta

The phone number for Adrian's Resort is 218-634-1985. Sportsmans Lodge is 218-634-1342.

Arneson's is actually between Warroad and Baudette, north of Roosevelt on Rocky Point. Number there is 218-442-7215 or 442-5501.

Sportsmans has live entertainment but after first ice Arnesons has the best fishing. All three offer package deals. Good luck.

Rasta,

Arnesens Rocky Point. Great lodge and great food. Great fishing. You'll get your fish. I know they're really booked up though. Best late ice fishing on the planet. Took a limit of 1 pound perch on April 7th two years ago. Along with limits of both walleyes and saugers up to 18&1/2 inches. Top notch operation.

Stay away from Arnesons Rock Harbor Lodge. I am from in that area and fished that lake my whole life. About five years ago. My father, two buddies, and I went out of Babblers access out to 12 mile Reef. About midday the wind and snow came up making it a total white-out. We decided to pack up to make sure we made it off during daylight hours. When we finally made it to land after getting stuck twice and 2 1/2 hrs later we ended up 1/2 mile south of rocky point. We drove up to Rocky and the only access they have is a bomber trail. When we pulled up to the trail to get off the ice a bomber was parked so no one could get on or off. We went into the bar and talked to the owner(BOB) and he told us quote "turn arround and get off the way you got on."

After that I try to tell them what kind of person he is. Granted he has a first class operation but is a first class A$$.

If I were going to reccomend a place to go if you want a package deal it would have to be the River Bend Resort with Glen Voytilla. He has a great operation and do everything he can to get you on the fish. If it is a do-it-yourself trip Stay in Warroad at a hotel or Zipple Bay Resort And drive to Long Point Resort or Babblers access just before you get to Rocky point. Go out and fish all the Islands or fish 16 mile Reef. 16 Mile Reef is usually the best ice fishing on the lake US side for mid season. but there are plenty of rock piles on that stretch between Rocky Point and Long Point that you should have no problem getting alot of great fish.

Check out www.lakeofthewoodsfishingreport.com He usually updates the report every monday after the weekend and has video clips of catching fish over the weekend. He fishes the rock piles between Rocky and Long.

Hope this helps with planning your next trip to the Great White North.

Back on the first weekend of January 7 friends and I made our first trip to LOW. I'm from North Dakota, but now live in the Twin Cities. I went with some advice of my wife's cousin who has fished up there for more than 15 years, taking at least 5 trips every year (he's from Duluth area). Here is what he told me, "Can't go wrong with Zippel Bay Resort, Adrian's, Morris Point or Arneson's". We went with a Zippel Bay Sleeper package (very affordable $65/per person a night). Out of eight guys, for the 3 nights we caught about 150 walleyes/sauger. About half of them were under 10 inches, and the other half anywhere from 15-18.5 inches. We'll be going out of Zippel Bay Resort every year from here on out. Basically, I think you will have luck with any one of the resorts on LOW because this is their livlihood and they make it a point to take care of their customers, unlike some of the operations I've run into on Mille Lacs. Willing to drive the extra 5 hours for the better service and give my business to the LOW resorts.
Good luck!!

I have to agree with catchem-eatem. River Bend Resort has a first-class operation and they will make sure you have a great trip. I am also from northern Minnesota and we have gone on several fishing trips with them, both winter and summer trips.

Do NOT stay at RIVER BEND RESORT. Nine of us used the owners cabin for the weekend (advertised on their website). He had told us we would have access to the full cabin and we paid $1,400 for 3 nights.

Ended up he had 2 rooms locked, one was the master bedroom with a shower. So, for 9 guys we had 1 shower. We where told we would have 2 showers. After we arrived we called the owner and asked to have the master bedroom opened as promised when we booked the cabin.

His response, "We should all wake up earlier."

Long story short the owner was arrogant and rude.
