Lake Oahe (North Dakota) - Friday, February 19, 2010

Went to to Cattail Bay yesterday and pulled a 'train' of a couple calf sleds behind a snowmobile. Three of us got three small walleyes and couple of Northerns and though slow, the weather and outing was great! Surprisingly we found that the snow had settled down and compacted and a snowmobile wasn't even required - an ATV would have been able to travel fine or even a pickup could have driven easily across the ice. Saw a few people out at a distance on the Ft. Yates side but don't know if anyone else was having luck or not. Fishing should improve over the next month or so. Ice depth 30 inches or so should last a long time.
