Lake has alot of snow on it but we were still able to get around with 4 wheel drive. Fished north lake all day monday and kept 18 gill between 2 of us. All were nice between 8 and 10.5 inches. Lots of small perch and a few pike also. fished in 18 ft water. 11 gill before 11 am and 7 after 4 pm 0 in between

Heard today that the going is getting pretty tough on the lake. On fishin talk form some guys saying that there may be a winter kill on some of the lakes, what do you,think will we have to worry about a winter kill on metigoshe? Hate to see it just when the lake is starting to produce some nice fish. I might head up tommorow or on new years day we'll see what happens, its going to suck if I can't drive out and pop some holes, been out only once all season and that was a month ago.

Fished north lake in 14 to 20 ft of water. Caught 7 Gill 8 to 10 3/4 inches. All before noon. many little perch quit at 230.

I say go for it!! I've been driving on other lakes up here in the hills. The last time I checked (last week) it was around 14 inches.

Was up on the 6, and it was slow. Cought 3 perch, 2 gills, and 1 3lb norhtern. Moved around, and couldn't find em. It was cold, but the ice was 12 inches everywhere we tried it. Thinking of heading up again on sat.

Hoping to make a trip to the lake this weekend. Just curious what sort of depth people find blugills in early ice? Also wondering if many people fish the Manitoba portion of the lake for Gills. Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks a bunch

Went up at noon today drilled about 20 holes trying to find a clean hole. Lots of weeds under the ice but did finde a ok spot at about 3pm. Picked up one small perch fishing in the weeds. Picked up a small northen on a tip-up w/ minnow, and a 13in walleye in the portable on a gold fat boy tipped with a live minnow. Fished till 5pm and when pulling up my last tip-up had a fish hit but lost it right at the hole not sure if it was a northern or a walleye, guss I should have had a leader on. Oh well not a real productive day but will take it for the first time out this year.

No report yet, just woundering if anyone has any new reports. I am thinking about heading up Sat. I would like to bring the four wheeler, from what I've heard the ice is 8 to 9". Looking for walleyes and if that fails anything will do. Skunked first time out sucks!

Fished friday afternoon and all day sat. with a 22 inch walleye was all I had to show. Caught a few pike and a few perch and small eyes but pretty slow. Ice was about 7 inches everywhere I and a few others drilled. Pressure ridge off squaw point towards boy scout camp didn't look real safe but we just avoided it to be safe. Minnows and waxworms available at four seasons store. Can't wait till next weekend.

All the places I drilled were 7 inches but was told yesterday that there were spots of ice by McKay that were still only about 4 inches, so be carefull. I will be out friday thru sunday and plan on trying alot of different spots and will report ice conditions early next week.

Also found 7" all over. Didn't find the fish, but there is plenty of ice. Shan - I'll try to get a hold of you this weekend. Will up there one of those days.

Fished at hahns bay on sat. ice was 7 inches. talked to 2 other people that tested the ice in different areas and ice was also 7 inches. Saw 2 guys on a four wheller pulling a fishouse and another guy on snowmobile going across lake. I will be up fishing on friday - sunday. and will post report when I get back home. See ya on the ice!
