Might be heading up on Sat. Just woundering if the gills are in the deeper falts of still hanging close to the reed beds. I have only fished Metigoshie 2 times all year and have been skunked 50% of the time. Has anyone tried any of the deeper parts of the lake and if so what kind of luck has there been. I have heard late winter the deeper flats may hold bluegills and perch, which the perch in Metigoshie are a little on the small side, but sometimes a guy can get a few keepers. Any information would be helpful I would rater have some people out catching some of thoes nice fish rather than seeing them floating up on shore this sprin.

Frank; was up there about a week ago, not quite ready for an extension yet. (about 6 inches from the motor)
Cspiering: always good for kids up there, bluegills, small perch and pike. Just watch for submerged rocks by the narrows and those stinkin jet skis

My family and I are going to be passing through Northern ND visiting family the second week in June. I'm thinking of extending the trip and giving Metigoshe a try, maybe pull the boat out.

What can a guy expect in terms of fishing on the lake that time of June? I'll have 3 kids along so action is good. If you have any suggestions for where to start looking for fish I would appreciate it.

If you don't want to post here my email is chriss190d@yahoo.com

Thanks for the help.

Try the weed bed on the northside of the narrows about 100 yrds from the narrows crossing, early morning or early evening. always had good luck there

OK guys, I have been searching the lake for gills for about a month now...nothing. My wife has never even seen a gill before, and I have never caught one. Neither of us have eaten bluegill but we sure are wishing. We spend money at the baitshops everyone is very helpful and friendly, does anyone care to throw mw a bone? I do have gps if you are feeling VERY generous...my email is dthomas354@hotmail.com

very tough to get around on lake even with 4 x 4 vehicle. snowmobile is best option. We couldn't get on north lake and very limited mobility on south lake. fished east side of makay island and caught some nice pike and were able to get some gills. Have to drill a bunch of holes and move around but it seem when you find the right hole you can limit out fast. alot of small perch s hae alot of wax worms. good luck to all but bring a shovel you just might need it.

Fished north lake in 18fow. We kept 17 nice bluegills out of my house, and a friend fishing next to us kept 7 or 8. tough getting around with alot of snow on the ice.
