Fished from 4:00 to 6:30 and caught 2-18 inch walleyes and 1-13 inch walleye in about 12 FOW.

Auggie, there are lots of fish out there sometimes real tough to find. I will be up there tomorrow and can give you a update if you wish, shoot me a message at getthenetnd@hotmail and I will let you know what is up. And yes, many crappies I find in the winter too!

They have planted alot of crappies in the past and you might catch a stray. Not real common to catch many through the ice though.

I wasn't aware one could catch decent walleyes in Metigoshie. I know it's mostly known for its gills. What is the crappie outlook for this lake? I'm assuming like many lakes, if you get into the gills, one might have a chance to pull out a slab or two. Anyone have experience with this?

Ice is 11 inches but the lake is snow covered -- a foot or more in most places. Also found slush in a number of places. I walked pulling my portable but a few anglers are driving on the ice but I don't believe the ice is safe. I plan to walk or use a sled until the ice gets at least 15". Anyway, my partner and I caught 4 walleyes between 13 and 16 inches in about 12 fow. These were caught between 4:50 and 5:20. Missed a few other hits. A few perch and pike hits before sunset.

Fished Metigoshe hard for 2.5 days. Between 3 of us we went through 3-4 tanks of auger gas and ended up catching 4 blue gills. I've never worked so hard to catch that few of gills in my life. We worked anywhere from 5 feet to 25 feet. In, out, and adjacent to weeds. We tried waxies, spikes, plastics, and minnows. We caught a few nice walleyes and lots of tiny perch. The water is very clear and you can sight fish down to 15 or so feet. I talked to a local gentleman who told us it is usually a lot better after a month or so and the weeds have died down. I'm sure I'll make it back up there again before ice out.

Had a Buddy of mines cousin go out yesterday and said there was 4-5 inces of ice where he was at did not here if he coaught anything or not

Just woundering if anyone has checked the ice or what the status is. I hate to ask on the fishing report what the ice conditions are but it seems that when these people who made the new site failed to put an ice condition form in. I know it was not used much on the old site but when first ice and late ice periods came around it is a nice feature. So hoppefully someone that has some say will read this and can put it back up on the form site so we don't have to ask on the fishing report because I know this is not what they want this part used for sorry.

Fished by Sonic Island yesterday. Caught nice walleye(up to 21") on leeches and rigs. Wind kicked up and we took off and back out about 6 p.m. dandy Bluegills up to 10.5" on leeches and jigs over the top of 8' water. Caught plenty, brought back a handful for dinner.

I heard the Blueills were biting so I decided to give it a whirl, I only caught 3 small gills and I didn't move around to find them because the first place I stopped I found lots of walleyes and a few perch but all small ones. I was thinking about big walleyes but it didn't happen, Nothing even over 14". It would be great lake to take kids fishing though as the action was nonstop. |

Are the gills starting to bite yet? Can I run around on the 4 wheeler? I have a couple of young kids that want to fish on there break, and would love to put them on some nice gills. Thanks

Fished South Lake on Saturday evening and caught my limit of walleyes all around the 15"-16" range. In about 12 FOW.
