Walked out to Mckay Island last evening from 4:00 till 6
tried minnows,waxworms and smelt,not a bite. Good solid 6in of ice. |

Fished the Met on Tuesday evening from the dock and caught 10 gills with 5 being 9.5 inches. Worm and plain hook.

Last time I was @ lake metigoshe there was a family fishing at the public dock at the narrows they looked like they were having a blast catching perch and gills. They were catching more than I did on the boat.

I am looking for a spot to take 2, 3 year olds. Are the blue gill biting up there, northerns at Long Lake, What about Pelican. Any help apperciated.

yes, thee was LOTS of boats and jetskis zipping around. I failing to drag myself out of bed to fish in the early morning, so did not have any bites. Fished here and there, but I bet it was noisy under the water for tose fish. We ended up pleasure cruising, and did some tubing. I fell off going full throttle on a turn. :) Water in my sinuses...ouch. Nope, no bites when I did fish. I love that beautiful lake, (was our lake of choice during my childhood) but the fishing is better during the week when people are at work. Stizo :)

Stizo: I was up there last wkend,what a rat race! I thought about fishing, but with all the boat traffic and jet skis it would of been rough. If you get to fish, those big bluegill should prime for pickin. Nitecrawler on a hook or small jig under a slip bobber. Also some BIG northerns,if thats your pleasure. I think rockin the hills
sounds more exciting,especially if it's nice out. |

My family, friends and I are heading to the state park this weekend, and we will be tubing and fishing. I will keep my boat out of the back bays while tubing, and only tubing in mid afternoon. Will try for some multi-species fishing in the early morning and late evening. Anybody been catching? I would imagine so. Any kind of info would be appreciated. I will check back later this afternoon to see if there are any responses, then we are heading out. Thanks. Stizo :)

was at metegoshie from friday night till sunday night only fished for awile on sunday didnt get anything worth keeping been busy moving buddy from cabin to new location hey murback dale sold his cabin to a doc from bismark and bought a 24 ft camper and a fith wheel camper and new truck had a cat come in and push over a nice spot on his other property just as you come off the highway into his cabin it is to your left when you turn the corner will be up there on wed night and thursday night stop by and visit nice place very secluded and peaceful come up on wed or thurs after noon be there after 5;00 pm the new place is reeeeaaal cooool, ha see ya later p.s. he got a new underwater camera top of the line you should see it you can actually see real good when trolling it rocks call this no. on wed. or thurs after five if your coming up 263-5052

Hey Fooseking was up there late Sunday afternoon,drove over by Dales cabin saw the for sale sign and the dock wasen't in.Went over to Wiskey bay and caught a couple of keepers the rest were small.Lot;s of traffic on the lake that day.Only fished for a couple of hrs,Its a long weekend when you start it on Thursday!Had a old friend show upfrom the south on that day.Might try Dl this weekend.Keep in touch!

fished dales bay again on june 8th and 9th caught several large gills and a few decent crappies with one pushing 2lbs many of the gills were 1.5 lbs or better we stayed on the shallow water spot till they bit took an hr. or so then they bit for 2 to 3 hrs weather was windy and crappy but the bite was good small plain hooks with leeches or a small piece of crawler worked the best hey murdock where are you need some lessens just leave a messesage been real cold up here good fishin to all

Fished 8:30 to 12:20. I was using a peice of crawler and a yellow jighead under a flot about 3 1/2 or 4 feet down. Me and my wife caught alot of huge bluegill. We had a couple over a pound. Using a ultralite setup they sure put up a fight. I was fishing by the bridge. Saw a guy in a boat catching afew small eyes. I might have to give them a shot next time.
