Fishing 6 tipups in our group at different depths, with smelt, plus fatheads on rods at 8 feet caught 1 measly 22" northern on the rod at about 1. That was it, 1 other bite all day no flags Tipups were from 4-10 FOW were fishing eastside of pond right about halfway point.

Hit Laretta last Sunday. Good, clear ice, but nobody driving yet. Lake has dropped a bit and ice has pushed up making transition from shore to ice difficult - at least on the east side. Good 4-wheeler ice, for sure...........and not too difficult to drag a sled / gear most anywhere on the ice. Was only there a couple hours, but found a 2.5 and 7lb pike in that time. Smelt. |

Has anyone been out here yet? My brother in law keeps insisting he wants to catch pike big ones if he can, and since i've heard about this lake and the sharks thast are in there we would like to check itout. anyone with any info ? |

We were out there on the north end two weeks ago It was smokin, flags like crazy . 4 of us limit in about 2 1/2 hours. We want to go once more, anyone been out there Ice still ok, able to walk out?? reports??

well loretta is still hard to get on and off with no good acess. very few people on the ice. some daring people drove on it sunday. ice was about 11-12 inches thick. clarity is good,about 7-8 feet down with some staining. i speared my limit before the storm rolled in with 10-11 inches of snow. had to 4 wheel out of dodge.

First time to try this lake while up in Langdon for weekend. Daughter's boyfriend gave us some tips to start with so fished edge of cattails on southeast shore. 15 mph wind from west put that idea to the test so headed across to west side and trolled north. Hooked into eight or nine but only boated three. Two small ones that went back and one 3 pounder that we did take home. Was fairly happy with the day considering we had never tried it before. Will go back on a little calmer day to give it another shot. Tricky getting on the lake but enjoyable day of fishing.
