Lake LaMoure Fishing Reports
Lake LaMoure - Tuesday, December 27, 2011
Great weekend of fishing with the boys (sons and grandsons). Ice is crystal clear with no snow cover. Visibility to about 12' through the ice. Nothing great for size, just good pan size. Using minnows and jigs with slip bobbers. Too windy on Monday (30+ mph) Glad we didn't take the permanent house out yet. Monday temps and wind turned surface of ice to water and opened up along shore. Hope to try again next weekend. 17 FOW.

Lake LaMoure - Saturday, July 2, 2011
Out to Lake LaMoure this afternoon. Lots of skiers - makes trolling interesting. Trolled for 3 1/2 - 4 hrs with a little success. We each caught a single medium sized Northerns that knew how to act bigger than they really were - fun! Have to head out again tomorrow morning to see if these babies have any bigger relatives.

Lake LaMoure - Monday, June 20, 2011
Fished the lake for the first time last weekend... lots of small eye's and northerns. A few decent perch Saturday night. Tried cattails with bobber and hook with crappie minnow and some crappie jigs starting off, after hitting nothing but walleyes and pike we then started trolling spinners to see if we could find some fish with a little size to them. Still lots of little guys... A plus is only one trophy bullhead for the entire trip.
Fun lake to be on... wish I could have located some crappies or bluegills. Hopefully find some later this summer when we go back. |

Great weekend of fishing! Not a lot of fish but fairly steady. Mixed bag caught from walleye to northern to perch and crappie. Weather was beautiful and family time was amazing. Whole family is looking forward to a repeat for the 4th!

Sunday afternoon fished N & W of "Marion Point" with mixed success. Nothing big but varied. Northerns, walleyes, perch, crappie and the biggest bluegill I've ever seen! Only one or two of each, but you never knew what was on the end of the line till you brought it in! Fun afternoon but chilly. Tried several approaches but did best with lindy's and leeches.

Anyone fishing still? With the weather the way it is, it's going to be hard to stay away from the lakes!

Lake LaMoure - Thursday, September 16, 2010
Fished Lamoure on Thursday last week. Started off with a nice 8 pound walleye that was put back in. Things were less exciting after that but we did manage to pick-up a limit of 16-17 inch walleye for a change, not that we didn't catch our share of 10 inchers and northerns in between! We fished jigs and minnows.
I've watched boats come out this sumemr and troll around for a half hour and leave, and you never saw them catch a fish. I've talked to people who are convinced all the fish went over the spillway during the past two springs. While some may have gone over, this is a good walleye lake. For those of you who fish it and are frustrated, slow the boat down or vertical fish with a jig. It's a light bite so give them 10-15 seconds to get on the hook. |

Just an evening run to the lake to relax. No wind, gorgeous weather. Nothing big caught but fairly steady action for about two hours. Good night on the water.

Lake LaMoure - Saturday, July 31, 2010
Went out today with the family, we trolled pretty much the entire south end of the lake. We stuck around the 15 to 20 feet of water mark. Only caught one small walleye and one decent sized bullhead (didn't keep). Using bottom bouncers with 24" and 36" spinners of different colors, tried nightcrawlers, minnows, and leaches. Not very familiar with this lake (3rd time fishing on it), couldn't tell anyone if I was aproching this lake the right way or not.

Fished Lamoure on Thursday afternoon/evening. Landed about 35 walleyes with two larger than 13 inches..... threw them all back in. Seems like we've been playing this game for the last 4 years..... at some point these fish have to grow. Caught fish at all the regular spots using a vertical jig / minnow presentation.

Went out Father's Day with the grandkids and who caught all the fish? Gramma! Had fun running the boat and helping the little ones. Found four meal size walleyes and two decent northerns. Flats northwest of swimming area proved to hold fish as there were several hits in the area. From landing south to point has been active also in 5-7 FOW. Also try the gravel points on south side. Not hot but usually interesting. |

Just a quick run out to take the grandsons fishing. Gotta admit, I didn't get much fishing done myself with two little boys on board, BUT, that's what grampa's are here for. The boys (5 and 6) had a blast. And they caught fish!

Lake LaMoure - Sunday, June 6, 2010
took a break from yard work and ran out to lake for some mid-afternoon relaxation. Hit the water, ran the lake to warm up the old Merc then started trolling the shoreline in 10-15 FOW and not long before boating first Northern of the season and shortly two Walleye. Nothing huge but good to be back on the water with some action. Unfortunately, hard cold rain came in and decided to head out. Did I mention we forgot jackets and raingear? Man, that rain was cold! Planning on going out again today!
