The pike  were hitting hard and fast on the west side and we had our limits in a couple of hours. Mostly nice big ones too. The best was that the water clearing up and we were able to do some sight fishing. Could just make out the bottom in about 4 feet of water. Moved to the east side in the afternoon but despite all the rigs it appeared to rather dead over their, so after a while we packed it up. Got twelve pounds of deboned filets off those pike.

Went out with two of my buddies and we were able to catch a few pike and only 3 walleyes just about a quarter mile near the farm. We were fishing in about 10 feet of water. Tip-ups tipped with minnows seemed to work the best for pike along with glow pink/green lindy frostees tipped with full minnows. The walleyes were really finicky and were not really biting but small glow frostees tipped with small minnows seemed to work the best for them. It was a good day on the ice although it was mostly foggy all day we were there. The pike ranged from 2.7 to 3.3 pounds and the walleyes were 12-15.5 inches.

Sorry this is not a report about lake irvine I noticed earlier you guys spoke of Lake Alice near Lake Irvine. I have had great success out there this year, you name it perch, walleyes, with an occasional pike. I have been on the northwest corner, earlier in the year I had to access with snowmobile, but this past month I have been accessing with my pickup. If you see an older white chevy out there that is me, I have been fishing by myself all year. I have tried numerous different depths and it doesn't seem like it matters. If you see me out there I wouldn't mind some company.

Fished Irvin on the 24th. Caught a dozen walleyes, none of them over 14 inches, all went back in the hole. 2 small perch and a few northerns. I was wondering if anyone has been catching any descent sized perch out here this year, Last year i did really well , but cant seem to find them this year. Good luck...

Simply stated, you are asking us on a web page for permission to break the law.
The majority of lake alice is on the refuge, currently that refuge is off limits to ice fishing and ALL vehicle travel.
Are there people over the boundary fishing, you betcha, everyday.  Does that make it ok, NOPE.
If you wanna go over the boundary you are playing the old game of russian roulette.  You may or may not get fined or even caught.
One thing to contemplate is this is a Federal Refuge.  If a state warden gets you they are usually quite understanding and aren't going to throw the book at you, federal wardens are a totally different story and Lake Alice is like their little baby, if they get you, you will get fined and it will be steep.
Also, the boundary markers that were out there this summer have moved way to the east and are actually quite a ways onto the refuge, and if you try to claim that you thought you were ok because of the buoys, the wardens will just tell you that "claiming ignorance is not a viable defense"
There is a push from area anglers in the Lake Region to get Lake Alice opened for ice fishing, but with all of the garbage being left on Lake Irvine from certain groups of people,it is not going quite as well as planned.  If you are out there, leave it better than you found it, and your ice hole is not an appropriate beer can receptacle.
