What are the boundaries of the refuge as they pertain to lake darling? Is there anywhere on lake darling that you can stay on the ice all night? I think the rule is crap that you have to be off by 10 pm, as you COMPLETELY miss the midnight/2 am bite. I am thinking of moving my house up there, but the inability to use my house 7 hours a day irritates me.

Well your outta luck when it comes from fishing after ten at night. You can start fishing up there at  five in the morning and fish until ten thats the rules. Thats the way it is. Alot of people don't like the rule either, and along with that rule I wish we could use fourwheeler and sleds up there too. I'm pretty sure the reason is when they built the dam it was for flood control of souris river valley and it was ment for a waterfowl refuge. The fishing part came later. But I'm not sure, you'd have to ask the right people on that one. Good Luck.

At least you can fish after sunset on Darling.  Alot of refuges a person has to be off the refuge a half hour after sunset.
