i haven't ice fished darling for the last couple years since the perch really disappeared, but i fished up there a ton for the 4 years before that.. i always accessed the ice at landing 3, drove the west side of the lake until i was a little southwest of the ranch and then crossed over... i never had any problems but i usually followed trails made by others... there was a pressure ridge that usually developed across the lake a couple miles north of landing 3, u will want to look out for that...

Thanks rap^ for the info. Is the ice safe to travel on from landing 3? What is the best route of travel on the lake, and are there any weak spots I should be aware of when heading up to the farm?

"the ranch" is a more traditional perch and walleye spot, it is up the lake to the north on the east side about 4 miles... not sure on the four mile distance but you can't miss it, first and probably only ranch on the east shore.... otherwise i'd say the river channel anywhere would be a good spot for eyes...

Must be the front moving through. Nothing caught, nothing on camera north of landing 3. Try again tomorrow.

Not sure which was would be closer for you.You can go east on Highway 2 towards Towner. You will hit highway14 about 4 miles west of Towner, right after you cross the river-can't miss it.Go south about 10 or 12 miles yo will come to karlshue turn that goes to the west.Take a left, there are signs for George lake.Or it might be shorter for you to go to Velva and then Karlshue and the go east to highway 14-good luck!
