Wondering how the ice held up after Thursday? Hoping to head up on Saturday with the whole family, any info would be greatly appreiciated.

Fished the east side just north of the spillway boat ramp. Ended up catching 1 perch, 1 northern and 4 walleye. Had several other bites so activity was pretty consistent, Seemed they were biting short. Perch came within the first 5 minutes of putting a line in the water and was in 22 feet of water. Northern came about 30 minutes later and came out of the same hole as the earlier perch. Three of the walleye hit just about sunset.and came within about 15 minutes of each other and in water ranging from 16 feet to 22 feet. The biggest walleye came in 12 feet of water and came after it had turned dark. No special presentation or pattern because they hit on straight hook or small multi-colored jig tipped with a minnow. It was definitely quiet out there. Only saw one other fisherman on the lake and they were over by landing 3.

Drove up off landing3. About 2 1/2 miles up a winding pressure ridge and open water. I guess 20 feet across. I gave up that idea and fished out over 300 yds from shore. Go luck til the snot rockets came in. My son and I landed 7 Pikes (kept 6) lost 4. Perch, caught 12 and kept 7. Walleyes, caught 9 kept 5. small hooks and hooked minnows from the back. No luck from the head. Most cught on tip ups with small treble hooks. Problem: With the lack of snow we have good hard ice but it has "sand" on the top. It's all over and it dulls an auger especially my strikemaster. I will have it sharpened before i return. Oh Yeah: Bring your Cleats with. An almost perfect ice, slickand super slippery where there isn't sand. Coolest thing. Seeing the fish under the ice after they are hooked, the pike really get crazy. Merry Christmas

Drove the pickup across the lake on the road grade. A few permanent houses were out but nobody fishing them. Ice was good all the way across with the ice improving and getting thicker up by the road grade (11"-12"). Had about 6 flags on the tip-ups and only landing one tiny 10" walleye and lost 2 other small eyes at the hole. Not a very good outing. There is a major pressure ridge that starts on the east shore right at the road grade and heads northwest to the west shoreline. It appears too big to cross and another fisherman told me the ice around the ridge is only about 4" thick so we did not make it to the ranch. |

Fished south of Darling Damn were the ice has NOT yet formed. My daughter and I caught 8 Northern... 23-30 inches long... kept 4. Took advantage of above seasonal temps... few ice chunks floating. Did not get any eyes or perch. Everyone fishing down their were catching northerns south of fishing dock.

Ice off landing 3 is 12-13". Some trucks were driving across. Last night we picked up 2 pike and 1 wallleye just off landing 3. Some guys we talked to were having better luck across from landing 3 on east shore.

kicked ass today by the bridge. caught fish all day long. limit of 5 to 7 lb northerns with a pile of dandy perch and a few small eyes. one nice one. 15 ft of water this lake never fails it always produces fish i love it. crazy mofos driving out there in full size pick ups though. 10 inches not enough for me to dive out i need more ice than that.

fished near spillway ramp in 10 feet didnt mark a fish on the vexilar. Didnt see much action from anyone else either. Was lots of portables out. |

Fished off Landing 3 from 1030-1700. Not even a nibble! Fished in 7-10 FOW about 100-300 feet off shore. Talked to a couple of guys that only caught a northern and thats it. Ice is 9-11 inches thick in most areas out there. Will not give up, will head out again soon! :^)

Went out today and nailed them right after we got there. Caught 35 kept 18 all perch and all over 4 inches. Great fishing first 2 hours good the next 2 hours and crappy the rest of the time. So if you want to go out I suggest in the morning.

went north of hedquarters about 2 1\2 miles and killed em, its a really long walk the so if you are willing to walk you will catch fish. all kinds of fish on all kinds of hooks. even pulled a 7 lb. walleye

just checked the ice saw a couple guys on the ice couldnt believe my ice asked them what the thickness of the ice was they said 7 and a half and they said caught alot of pike and perch even caught a perch when i talked to them

Went by landing 3 again and it looks like the same amount of people out there went up to the feed lot and drive by all of the landings but 3 is the only one wth activity
