Lake Darling - Sunday, January 9, 2011
Two of us fished Sunday morning off of landing 3 in about 14ft of water. Fishing started slow but between 0900 and 1030, fishing was outstanding. We manged to get our limit of 9 inch perch and throw back another 30 or so smaller ones, We fished with many different lures but a buckshot on one pole and a dead stick with a jig beside seem to work best. Red was the color of choice. We also caught five small walleyes between 6 to 9 inches that were released. If you are going to catch alot of fish you have to keep moving until you find them, but when you do find them the action is non stop. Good luck and tight lines!

Went off of Landing #3 sat. fished 13ft of water caught 10 ok perch to clean and 2 northerns 3-4 #, ice was 14in thick. Minnows and jigs. They do a good job keeping access to the Ramp open. Getting around on the lake is ok, if you watch where you drive. Going out with 2 pickups would be advised if you want to venture out , a lot of the lake has not been touch yet.

Fished Landing 3 today. Fishing was pretty slow. we fished 14 ft of water and tried everty color possible. We managed to catch 17 perch over 9 inches to bring home and two decent slimers. Could not really pin point what the fish wanted today. I also talked to the game warden at the checkpoint, they were checking people as they left and he told me he had to write someone a $1250 ticket for having 10 perch over the limit. So someone on is catching fish out there. That is a stiff fine but it will keep people from catching over their limit. He was telling me $100 dollars a fish and $250 court cost.

Grano Crossing - Sunday, January 2, 2011
finally got to use my spearing shack I set out last weekend. Water has come up 4inches and froze down the base, will be a real chore to break out later. A little slow but not bad, speared 5 out of 8 pike that came through the holes. missed one 10lb cause I stepped on my rope. oops. The nephew speared his first 2 pike today he was pretty happy with the day. tip ups produced a small walleye and many lite bites but nothing great and only 2 perch on jigs over 8".

Lake Darling - Tuesday, December 28, 2010
Went north of landing three in 15 fow. Had bites all day between the 5 of us. We ended up keeping 78 of them. We could of limited out but was tired of the wind. If we get the storm there talking it going to b real tough to get around out there. The smallest we keep was 9 inches and the biggest was 12 inches. One northern and two real small eyes. It wasnt a real hard bite. Lost some dandies. watch out for the water in spots on the lake. Time to hit devils lake 4 the walleye bite. Good luck to all.

Lake Darling - Monday, December 27, 2010
Fished off landing 3 in 15 FOW and yes it was slushy! Water came up out of the holes I drilled and I must of had 2 in of water in my ice house. The bite was very light, but they were down there nibbling most of the day. Started to get more aggresive later in the day and the action was non-stop. Caught only one on a tip-up w/ plain red hook. Jigged with a Lindy darter and they were biting the dead stick in the next hole. No action if I wasn't jigging the darter. Kept some real nice sized perch. Be careful out there, as people were getting stuck. If we get the snow they are forecasting, I'm afraid there won't be many vehicles traveling on the lake.

Lake Darling - Friday, December 24, 2010
Fished landing 3 on 24 Dec and did pretty well. Three of us ended up with 44 perch over 9 inches. We also caught about seven pike, only kept two one 28 inches and the other a monster 34 inches. We fished 14 fow. We put egg shells down and could see the bottom in 14 FOW. It is pretty cool watching fish eat your bait all day. Best luck came on a green jig or a plain red hook. Does anyone have any reports from Grano? I am planning on taking the kids out in the morning and do not want them to have to deal with all the slush and water on the ice at landing 3.

Lake Darling - Monday, December 27, 2010
Fished landing 3 today for about 4 1/2 hours. Kept 4 perch, all that we caught, betwen 9 1/2 and 11 inches. Got the first male of the year today, at 9 1/2 inches. One small walleye. A bunch of slush today, which got worse as the day went on. Didn't get stuck, but watched a few other guys shovel. The wind was horrible. Fish were caught in 15 FOW from top of the ice, on white homemade jigs, and chartreuse hali's with yellow circle hooks replacing the factory hook. Small walleye was on pink homemade jig and minnow. How is everyone else doing around landing 3? Any action around grano besides slough sharks?
