Just signed up on this site, been fishing Lake Darling and Grano for the last 6 years.  Took my girls out to Grano today and caught 4 Northern's ranging from 20-24 inches.  The week before we caught 6 Northern's ranging from 19-24.5 inches, all from shore.  There hot on bright colored spinners, especially orange and bright green.  The kiddos and I are glad to become part of the fishing buddy network!!

Very very windy but other than that lots of nice ones.  Left with 3 but missed 2 very nice ones. Was using spinners and minnows and crawlers. The action was still going as i left last night as i was the only boat out besides some people fishing for bullheads.

Sakakawea or just bellow it on the Missouri is your best bet for catfish near Minot, Check out the last issue of ND Outdoors. It has a good article about catfishing on the Missouri.

went out to Grano this past weekend on the 24 and had a amazing day.  Fished about a quarter mile down from the bridge on the darling side.  Caught about a dozen walleye all small, but fun to catch on rapalas.  Caught about 9 pike between my buddy and i all on minnows. and a couple dinky perch.  overall the action was coninutous and fun even though there werent too many keepers.

My buddy also told me that he fished the lower spill way and caught about 18 pike between him and his friend.  Sorry i dont have any pictures to share.  Loving the rain got to keep going out there before the water level starts dropping again.

Hope this reports helps good luck and tight lines.

LUCAS knows damn right.  Able to have my annual 4th fish fry using a spinnerbait from the shore.

If you're not a big "fish" guy/gal.  Pike is for you.  It tastes vaguely like something, which is great for me!!  Anyways, learn to clean these slimy, finger lacerating
SOBs; keep a few larger "hammer handles" and relish the beer-batter goodness.  I soaked my fillets in a mild saltwater/lemon juice solution overnight and was pleased.  I did channel cat from the Tailrace soaked in Mt. Dew last year.  Very good.  This Darling pike was better.  You can tell you're eating fish by the texture.

Activity is high on the lake, but there are no fish with size. the biggest perch was maybe 10" which is really small in my book. Not much of a fillet on those fish. Throw them back and let them grow. Biggest walleye was 7". Fished both the west and east end in search for bigger fish......no luck. It is a good time to take a kid out because they will be busy, but throw the little ones back!!!

Not a bad day today the fish were biting like crazy Caught easily around 20 Perch descent size. 1 Walleye I had on the hook and got off before I could net him.   3 Northern Pikes, released 2 of them back as they were still a little small, the one I kept was almost at 24 inches.  I was fishing on the west side of the lake in the weeds over by the long dock with the restrooms.

Took my son out Friday night and landed about 30 perch down by the dam. 8 of which were about 10-11".  A good night, couldn't set the pole down for a second.
