havent been out yet, i like to wait until it water warms, and to be honest i dont fish ashtabula until probably late june or july, pulling cranks, they are letting lots of water out so am hoping in a few days the walleyes will start up decent on the river

Thanks for the info Elk2000-1! I'm thinking on going out there on Saturday with my boat and try jigging up some marble eyes... depending on weather conditions. If I have any success I'll let you know. Thanks again for the responds. You Catching?

i was putting up signs with the corps of engineer today, they said the lake opened up during the night, they will start putting docks in now

I see Jamestown is open with no ICE does anyone have a report from Valley City on Lake Ashtabula? Can a boat get on the lake? If so where would be a good place to launch? Thanks in advance for any info!

We caught a few small walleyes by the creek. Water is flowing in and it was murky in this area. Bridges are opening, but running around on an ATV or snowcat it should be fine.

How did you do? I went out to the clay banks and tried a few spots and didn't do very good. There was 6 of us and 3 different houses fished from 8 am until 1 pm. We only caught 6 perch and 1 small eye. punched a lot of holes couldn't get most of the fish we marked to bite. |

Thanks holmes.. Ill probobly be out there tomorow morning. Too bad the winds coming from the east tomorow. It almost never fails.. the wind from the east the fish bite the least. but there is exceptions.

The ice is 20 plus inches by the crossing. The snow is also 20 plus inches!! I caught some perch last saturday in 22 fow. Small jigs and waxies and minnow on bobbers.

There is a lot of snow on the lake the most of the paths were good last weekend. The access at the crossing was good. Good luck. maybe see ya there on sunday.

I am hoping to fish this weekend for the first time in a month. I was wondering how the access is and how much snow is on the lake. Was planning on trying it in the creek or up at old 26, any suggestions?
