How much snow is on the lake now? Can a guy drive a pickup down to the creek from the crossing? Anyone have any reports? Haven't been there in awhile, was curious if it's worth a trip. Thanks.

Fished out of Sundstroms' on Saturday. We caught a few small walleyes but ended up keeping 7 perch among 7 people. We mainly fished 17-19 feet but had holes drilled all the way to 5 feet. An evening bite was non-existent. Very easy to get around on the lake with a four wheeler.

My buddy went out last weekend. He parked off of the highway and attempted to pull 2 houses and 3 other people (Not at the same time) 1 mile to our usual fishing spot. The first trip took him 45 minutes. When complete the fourwheeler and him were covered in snow, slush and frozen slush. It took him about 2.5 hours to get all people and gear to our spot. They fished all day, caught 2 pike and 1 perch and then went through the same crap to get off the lake. Then he called me and had to leave his wheeler and trailer at the lake because he counldn't get them back to the highway through the snow. So I we went back the next day and used a walk behind snowblower and some tire chains to get the stuff out of the snow bank. Ice thickness was 19 inches, snow/slush depth was over 20 inches. The story might change with the upcoming cold weather. It may not be bad out there if we can get the slush to freeze with minimal amounts of new snow. Needless to say that I will be fishing in the Twin cities this weekend where there is 20 inches of ice and 0 snow on the lake. It will be my first time on the lake with a vehicle this whole year!

Wondering if anyone has gone out there yet. Where can you access the lake? Also, wondering what the ice conditions on the lake are like.

Fished this morning at Sundstroms in 20 fow just outside the channel.  Landed a 17" eye right away and not a fish after that.  Had plenty to look at on the vex, but they wouldn't take anything.  I even brought waxies this time just in case.  I literally tried every lure and every technique.  Very frustrating.  I thought it was going to be great with this front coming in.

Ice/snow conditions are horrible.  6-8 inches of snow, then 1/4" to 1" of ice, then 2-3 inches of slush, then 6-8 inches of ice.  I was lucky enough to set up where the first layer of ice was a solid 1" and didn't have to deal with the water/slush.  It was very tough pulling everything out there.

Went out on thursday.   Got to the lake at 9:30 went to the north esst boat landing at the crossing.  Got stuck in 3 minutes.  Blew a 15yard path out on the lake which took forever.  Then got our second truck stuck and blew for another 30 minutes to get it out finally got the house backed up out over the channel at 12:30pm.  So basically blew snow for 3 hours because no business ower on the lake wants to make any money.  Stayed over night in the house and by friday morning there was 5 inches of ice on the lake around my house.  then had to call dad to hook up to my truck to pull me and the house off the lake.  So unless your one of the fortunate people with a 4wheeler and tracks our ice fishing is over again for the year.  Oh as for fishing we caught about 15 walleys only kept one.

Stopped by Sundstroms on the way back from Grandmas house and fished from 3:30 until 6:00.  Caught 4 dinky walleyes between 4:30 & 4:45 on glow jigs and minnows.  I was set up in 21 FOW.  There were 3 other portables besides mine out there plus the house that's set on the first hump to the west.

Daughter and I fished at Sundstrom landing from 0730 to 1130.  3 to 5 inches of snow and 2 to 3 inches of slush to drag your gear through.  Fished in 21 FOW and caught one small northern.  Did not mark anything else.  I would have tried a few more spots but too much of a pain to move around and was having some problems with my heater.  Ice appeared to be around 10 inches, but did not measure with a tape.  Actual lake depth appears to be around 6 ft lower than the Garmin Lakemaster map.

Went out Saturday to take a look at the lake and did not see a vehicle on the ice from the crossing to the dam.  Snow is getting real hard on the lake, don't think anyone wants to go out and get stuck.

Does anyone know what happened to the road down to Katie Olson's Landing?  Was down there yesterday, and there is a road closed sign right before you go down the hill.

We did eventually get on the lake at another location and caught some perch, but only a couple of keepers.  Fished right on the edge of the channel.  Ice was about 11" and there was about a foot of snow where we set up.

Went out last Sunday evening real close the the Sibley bridge.  Fishing in 5 feet close to the channel.  Right after sunset there were short bursts of excitement with the small eyes.  Later, the bite slowed to about 3 per hour between the two of us.  All the fish were small but it was still fun.  Very cold that night and the lake is going down so while the ice is hung up at shore, the water was a little over an inch above the ice where we set up.  The slush and snow kept the water from spreading from our holes.  If I was to do it again, I'd set up in 3 or 4 feet of water as they seemed to be coming off the shallows.  Jigs with whole minnows.  Color of jig didn't seem to matter.  Lively minnows got action quicker.   Ice in the shallows was about 11" and in the channel with good current was about 6".
