He's on the radio right now.

I'm sure it was full of useless rhetoric.

The guy interviewing him was really kissing up. I don't listen to KNOX that often so I don't know who the guy was. He said he was going to take phone calls and then he immediately changed the subject.

KNOX is broadcast out of Grand Forks. The guy in question is Dan Dewald. In my opinion this guy is a tool. I try and listen every day because it is my favorite thing to do on the drive home. Since he has come on this time slot I have found myself switching stations. Example- yesterday- You may have heard about the two young men who drown while tubing at Red lake falls. The GF Herald had a short article stating that it's unknown if alcohol was involved and the fast current is to be mostly blamed. This insensitive jerk took it upon himself to state that in his opinion that these guys were drunk and that's why they drowned. He kept going on and on about it. In my opinion it was very distasteful and disrespectful to the families of these guys. If they were drunk then so be it but you don't make something like that a subject on talk radio until it is a known fact. Give the families a chance to grieve!

This guy is bad every day.  I heard him yesterday talking about the tubing incident and it was terrible. He needed to be replaced long ago and yesterday just proved it.  He offended lots of folks that will be turning their dials elsewhere.

Dan Dewald was talking yesterday about the high fence issue again. He was basically parroting what Kaseman said on his show. He's taking what Kaseman said as gospel. Same scenario as last time, he said he was going to take calls and he switched the subject to coal ash. I heard him repeat yesterday what Roger said. He called them "wild animals". My cousin was able to get him on the phone off air after his show and explained to him that these animals are livestock and  not  "stolen" from the wild. He went on to explain to him that these animals are a "product" to be sold to the highest paying customer. Dewald told him that he "may" bring it up for discussion again today. His show is on KNOX 1310 from 2-5pm. I sincerely hope some one with more patience than me will call in and staighten things out.

As for the fair chase issue, any one who has ever hunted knows it's not hunting. I have shot elk, cows, pigs inside a pen for butcher and never felt I was hunting. If some one wants to dress up in a clown suit and shoot chickens in a pen with a bazooka for ten grand a piece, I say go for it. I would rather see a rancher have a successful business selling his privately owned animals than some one making money by whoring out a natural resource that belongs to the public.

I have tubed down that river and it is dangerous.  There is a lot of areas where you can't touch and the current is strong.  You wouldn't have to be drunk to get in trouble on that river.

I agree to a certain extent.  I have tubed it in high and low water and it can be pretty fast when the water is up.  The only thing I think of is that it is not very wide.  It seems to me, you should be able to swim to the edge if you can beat your way out of a wet paper bag.  I am not going to blame it on booze, but it seems there was some horse play involved.

Red lake river runs through the town of Red Lake Falls. Tubed it myself in my younger years.
