If you get your vehicle washed and then swerve into other lanes to avoid puddles from getting it dirty, just stay home until the roads are dry. Two seperate morons were doing this in Bismarck today. Both almost hit more than one vehicle because they didn't want to mess up their trucks...

Weren't me, I still go by the old standard washes.  One in the spring to remove the salt, and one in the late fall to remove the bloody evidence of a successful season.  I'm a week or so away from the spring Ford bath.

Yeah, but I keep getting my favorite mustard and ketchup stained shirts covered in road grime whenever I brush up against the door.

Maybe I should just use the squeegee at the local gas station to clean my door?  One can't be too frugal in today's economy and I can save those quarters intended for the carwash for use somewhere else.  :D

Here is a thought Allen.  You take a garden hose and a scrub brush and wash it the old fashioned way.

What?

Good old fashioned elbow grease.

I gotta admit, I washed her yesterday at the car wash even though I have all the utensils at home.  Might be about a horse apiece between what I paid to run her through once at Landers compared to how much water I would have wasted at home.

The Rural Water districts really know how to wring a quarter out of a person!

Say Sly, you staying dry out that way?  Lots more water soon to be heading north in the Little Mo.  If wet conditions set back your spring work you should make a trip out here and I'll take you out to harass some fish.  :D

Allen,  Yea the little Mo. is doing her part this spring.  Has been flowing hard for the last few weeks.  Aint much compared to the big muddy but every little bit helps.  Gonna be awhile down here but are in better shape than some across the state.  Birds will be down some but there are some out there.  Deer seem to have made it through fairly well, they look like they are ready for spring :) just like the rest of us.  Sorry if I hi-jacked the thread.

Nyahh, don't worry about hijacking Steve's thread.  If he gives us grief over it I will personally pay for sdwxman's next carwash.  :D

Hell, talk about what you want. If it gets bumped up and only 1 tool gets the message, it was worth it.

BTW, sdwxman, I was driving the nasty 'Burbon so no need to move over if they want to trade paint/rust/grime

Talking about be fruggle!!! The wife just about crapped herself the other day when she seen me do this!

I have been pumping water for the last two weeks out of my driveway and yard to keep it away from the house. One of my little pumps uses a garden hose as a discharge. (do you see where this is going?) Saturday it was nice out so I grabbed a spray nozzle and attached it and preoceeded to wash the truck. Talk about a free wash.....LOL

I can do one better than the guys that are afraid to get thier trucks dirty.  I know a guy that refused to haul anything in his truck because he might put a scratch in his box.  He got a bed liner installed, but still has yet to haul a single thing because he is afraid he might scratch the bed liner.  Now that's funny stuff right there.  I told him he should sell the truck and get himself a little pink VW beetle instead.

I met a guy with a very tricked out 4x4 that was built to the max...but he stored it in the winter and wouldn't drive it off pavement, never had in 4 wheel, yet had all the tough rancho suspension, etc. just for show. That's fine, but he had to give me crap that I wouldn't drive my hotrod off pavement either... but my rod was built for speed and I DID rod the snot out of it...on pavement. Oh well, to each his own...it would be pretty boring if we were all the same. Just don't run into me to avoid a puddle...

The other day a car in front of me gave a pedestrian lady a total head-to-toe soaker splash at a crosswalk...that's a lot worse than just dodging puddles to other's annoyance.

My F-150(w/plenty o' scratches) hasn't had her spring bath yet either, the steets are fithy. So the puudles don't bother me, but how about those potholes! Pothole central here in Bis. Read somewhere some students from MIT invented a suspension system that powers a small turbine the helps power your vehicle when it goes over bumps int the road, I could have been driving for free the past month.

, just to be clear, it is not the annoyance factor but the safety issue the idiots are causing by veering into other lanes. I thought the safety issue was clear when I mentioned they almost hit other vehicles.

Dirty Truck?  Just drive down Apple Creek Road this morning!    Bring a pladdle along, though.  And life jackets for everyone or you might get a ticket from the G & F!!

I helped close several roads in Ward County yesterday.  Simply put, be sure to be careful out in the country.  The next hill could produce a washed out road or at least water on the road which will deflect your vehicle in quick fashion if you hit it at the wrong speed.  Just use common sense folks.

Good luck to everyone out there.  Crazy times.
