Jamestown Reservior - Tuesday, May 31, 2005
I suppose I can post what is going because it's not much of a secret after the tourney. My buddy and I won and all our walleye's came from between Smokey's landing and the high lines south of the bridge. Most came from south of the corrals out in the middle of the lake with no particular structure or depth. Saturday was much better than Sunday but every walleye sunday came on floaters. We had 4 eyes by 11:00 a.m. and it took another 3 hours to limit out so it's definitely not gangbusters. Our northerns came from south of five mile corner.Good luck to all.

We fished the tournament and caught 3 eyes on sat. along with smallmouth and one ugly bullhead. On sunday we caught 2 eyes and yes another bullhead. The waves were hell. And what is with all the bullheads being caught this year so far ????

doesn't anyone report on jamestown anymore? they just had their big tourney this past weekend and not one word said. At least a few of the participants could lie a little bit. there seems to be some real tight lipped fish fanatics in the area. maybe they are catching something. of course the way the weather was sat/sun maybe only the die-hard half crazy participated??? at least let a person know what is going on, you don't have to say where on the pond.

try the boat ramp at pipestem...the old ramp that is out of the water. It is just north of the current one. THere is a creek mouth that leads there. There is allot of carp that use that bay for spawning.

Pipestem Lake - Saturday, April 30, 2005
Tango, should be about 80 miles from Oakes to Pipestem. Head west out of Oakes to Hwy 281, head north on 281 through Jamestown, 3-5 miles North of Jamestown you'll see the big brown sign leading you to the lake, head west to the lake when you see that sign.

Topozone.com and the new Google.com Maps section are very nice if you are scouting out any flow or section of land. Topozone provides a graphical represenation of the land and features such as maps, while the Google Maps are USGS survey photos all pieced together and they turn out really nice on the monitor, I've never printed one, so I am no help there.
Check out both sites, I use and reccommend them highly! Good luck with the river run! |
