So I am wondering about the ice for the Jamestown VFD Tourney, has it been getting warm there. I am in Glendive, MT and its beenin the upper 40's to low 50's for the last week or so and not sure if its been getting cold enough at night. I hope there is ice and enought to use rv.

Best thing to do to get a map is go to the nd game and fish website and print off a map of the lake. It shows where the channel runs through and tells you where the landings are, as well as depths.

Not much snow on the ice maybe a couple of inches that blew around. Pelican Point is across from smokeys landing I don't know any maps that have any point or bay names on it. . be careful out there there were alot of places with open water earlier. where the ice was good there is around 20" now but not sure where it was open

Trying to find out how much snow is on the resevoir we only have atv to get around. Also people talk about Pelican Point as to where is reference is shale banks and Smokies Landing can't seem to locate a map with this info. Does anybody know where a person can get a map that would mark out all the names points and bays.

walleyslayer, When i was back for xmas we hammered a little bit of everything and the crappies had real nice size to em! I would wait a couple weeks till it gets cold again to freeze it up a bit, because the hot spots are close to or are open water right now. i was out there last weekend and didnt get to fish my usual honey holes. i'm goin back first weekend in february. you can hit me up with a message on where to go unless you already do. I know big walleyes are comin outa pipestem to!

Totally forgot to report after the xmas weekend, ice was 10 to 12 inches, fishing was good. So how is out there now? Lot of open water and nasty pressure ridges. I know the fishing is hot out there tho. |

I noticed the ice was forming Friday. Drove across today and it looked mostly froze over except south of the island where there was some geese sitting.

went to old boat club and was frozen up. couldnt get 8 inch rock to go thru but put hole in ice. figured bout 1 to 1/12 in frida. had surgery so no fishin 4 me now but thought would let ya know. i am usually 1st onesout at 2 to 3 inches so would probably already b there but have to get buddies to do everything i usually do so aint happening anytime soon........good luck n stay safe !
