I am looking to re-spool my ice reels and was wondering what lines you guys have success with.  I have had a small diameter braid on my jigging rods for so long now that I can't even remember exactly what is on there, maybe spiderwire ice.  I guess I liked the no-stretch sensitivity, but it did like to freeze up on cold days when I wasn't in the portable.  I have read that flurocarbon is the way to go and want to hear what others are having success with for mainly jigging walleye and perch.

If there was a thread concerning this topic on here in the recent past, I apologize.

I like to vary my choices.  I keep a couple with clear fluorocarbon, a couple with powerpro and fire, at least one micro with 2lb mono for real finicky panfish, one with nanofil, and one with heavy fireline for getting pesky pike out of a hole in a hurry.

Different lines allow for different actions, applications, and visibility. It's good to watch how fish react on the camera to different line presentations.

I like 1the lb fireline crystal for panfish. I use 4 lb fireline for walleye. I have used a little nanofil. it ices up less and seems more limp. On lake Winnipeg I use 10lb crystal. I'll probably switch to manifold.nanofil.

I bought a pack of the new northland flourosilk line and really like it. Until this year, I've only been using the suffix line and well, I went back and got 2 more of the northland to spool up my other reels. It's smooth and doesn't have memory at all. Doesn't seem to get ice freezing and sticking on it badly either. I just don't like the full FC lines, tried them during open water and they spool off your reel like crazy. And braided for me, I don't Ike how they frizz up after rubbing against rough objects.
