Ice fishing tackle boxes

What does everyone use for tackle boxes out icefishing?  My tackle box is too small and I need a new one.  I don't want something too big either and prefer soft case.  I am also trying to take my mind off of the horrible deer season that I am having, so please share some ideas.

 This is what I use:

http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Okuma_Backpack/descpage-OKBP.html

It doesn't have the most box storage, but I rotate my boxes depending on what type of fishing I'm going to be doing.

I like that I can store other items in the backpack part but still have the box storage underneath.

Two of those plastic compartment cases in a five gallon bucket with an ice scoop, small radio, a couple tip ups, and a gaff. A second bucket with 8 rods in it, and a 3rd bucket with my minnows in it and a cushion lid to sit on it. As much as I hate buckets I sure use the sh!t outa em.

If we're not supposed to eat animals, how come they're made out of meat?

If you see me rolling in with tip ups, the fishing must be slow and i must be drinking heavily.

Its when I bring my two little ones with, I put a couple of random flags out and about, as I cant fish all my lines and handle the kids shananigans too.

I buy almost all the clear cheap small compartment style (3-4" deep by 1" thick by 5-6" long) boxes and just group my lures... kastmaster/buckshot style in one, jigs in another, slip bobber systems in another, darters/live targets together, etc. All those small cases go in the side pockets of my rod bags.

It's very flexible that way - you always have all your tackle with but can pick/choose what to take out, what to throw in bucket or vest pocket when scouting, etc.

Do you ever bring along your paintbrushes when you go fishing?

This is a pretty good way to go, although I wouldn't get cheap boxes with cheap latches. Plano ProLatch boxes are the best IMO and are still cheap. Most sizes fit in the sides of rod bags. This year I'll be doing something a little different and essentially ditching the rod bags for an Otter hard case and using a Strikemaster Ice Troller bag to carry my tackle boxes, GPS, tape/tape measure, and scale. I got so sick of rods getting tangled with each other and hooks stuck inside the fabric of the rod bags that I decided to switch it up.

I've got 4 of the ice armor boxes that look like fly boxes.  2 sides and small enough to throw in a pocket.  1 has non rattling spoons and larger jigs, 1 has rattle spoons, 1 has all my horizontal panfish jigs, and the other has darters and swimming lures.
I also have a very small fold open box for terminal stuff(hooks, swivels, ect) and a neat little two sided thing with six compartments for plastics.  I can fit a few of these in my bibs if I am on the search, otherwise they live in my otter console.

This box in the "Small" version has enough room to hold all the ice tackle needed without being too big.  I have been using a small vexilar box and that is too small for me right now.  I will be looking towards these because I use a couple of them for summer fishing.

I've used the Vexilar box up until last season, and that too is going by the wayside for an Ice Armor two sided jig box. Nice box but it bangs up the paint on my Genz worms and Fat Boys.

I just bought two of these and I think this is the direction I am going to go.  For small jigs, it's great to keep them separated and not just rattling around in a compartment.  All my panfish stuff is going to go this way and I will use little Plano Prolatch boxes for the 'eye and pike stuff.

I am trying to downsize, I always bring way too much crap.  I can fit all my tackle in 1/2 the space and be more organized.

I always have at least a sled so I am like JohnR and have the round ones that fit in a five gallon bucket.  One of them hold a ton of tackle and I have to have buckets anyway.  I also have the small vexilar one that I keep in my coat pocket.  I try not to bring too much junk if I don't have to.

Your welcome!  That will hold lots of those buckshots and if you take a few of the plano boxes out you can put an easy pack of Windsor in there.
