Hey fellas;

I need to enroll my son in hunter education class here in Minot and I was wondering if any of you knew who a good instructor was to have.  They are as follows:

Clint Baxter
Lee Schoffstall
Joe Heiser

Any experience with these guys?  I'm not trying to start anything, just wondering if anyone has had them as an instructor and how they were.

Check this page or call the GF Department and just ask for the Hunter Safety person.

Good would be defined as what? All instructors should be following the same curriculum so there shouldn't be much difference in any class around the state as far as how it is conducted and what the students learn.

I do know both Clint and Joe personally and they are both great guys. I don't know Lee, but being he willingly volunteers at least 20 hours of his own time to prepare and teach class, then travels to mini conferences around the state to keep up to date on teaching class, again on his own time and at his own expense I'm guessing he's probably not too bad a fellow either.

Contact the Minot Rifle and Pistol club, or check the G&F website.  Any one that volunteers their time is top notch in my book.

I agree 100% that those who are willing to volunteer their time and energy are certainly all worthy of praise.  Again, I wasn't trying to imply that one was better than the other, or looking for someone to put any of them down, but I was looking for a response like boston_alltheway's.

Bowhuntin, "good", to me, would be defined as someone who presents the material in a manner that keeps my 11 year old son interested and enthused.

I'm sure they are all fine individuals!
