Saw a Hun yesterday afternoon.  First one I've seen in a couple years.  Those things are fun to hunt because they sit tight.  All I had was the 12 guage with though.

Should've blasted him! I agree, they are fun to hunt.

Parents have had  20 of them in their yard all year. Pretty good number of them out west.

Yeah, they are in the upside of their cycle.  We too have a couple coveys in our neighborhood.  Maybe 35 birds altogether.

Shoot em and eat em.  They are delicious!

I was up by Crosby last week and we did quite well on the little buggers, and they are very tastee. We used 12 gauges they seem to work just fine.

A 20 guage works best.

As I've said before, a 20ga is a vile tube which requires yellow ammuntion.  Your head may be in the right place but your heart needs to embrace the 16.

I prefer a 10 guage, with BBB. If you wound them, they are vicious. To be on the safe side, if you hit one, ground pound it again to make sure it is dead.

Well, that would tenderize and allow for saturation of a good marinade.

I shoot huns probably 3 days out of the week. I use a 12 gauge.

I have seen more coveys this year than I have in at least 5 or 6 years .  I guess I like seeing them well enough , and there are few enough of them that I just like to watch them fly away .
