I'm all ears.  I'd like to find something that would allow me to use my Otter flite cover in the system, but I'm not dead set on it.

I've seen guys use those Mad Dog rifle/shotgun holders on their atv's quite a few times. I'm also interested in a good way to do this. Something I can swap onto my snowmobile would be super.

i bought just standard gun racks for my atv then i extended them about 3.5 inchs so the flighting of the auger doesn't touch the rack of the atv.

Look up auger sidekick. It works excellent for me I have it on a sled and a rhino
I did not set it up for drilling holes just use it to carry and can use a auger cover

The digger anchor auger carrier is supposed to be good, see link below.

 http://www.diggeranchor.com/augercarrier.html

Go to www.fishingminnesota.com there have been many discussions about this. You might find something useful. Not sure what the otter flite cover is (am guessing the plastic tube you put the auger in???) if so I have seen pics on that site of them mounting them on atv's and rangers. good luck

Horsager,  I have a AugerEasy on the back of my Prowler!  Never have to touch the auger, except to pull the starting rope!    Fantastic invention and lets me baby my old worn out over the hill titanium reinforced back and still go ice fishing.   Only have to lift the 12 pound walleyes into the box  on it now.   You can puch as many holes as fast as you can turn the crank and mover the ATV.
I'd post a picture if I knew how.

Here you go Bob.  Great looking rig!

I suppose the rifle is for protection from the Ice Pirates of Aberdeen?

Bob's fishing rig.

Yezzir Allen!   I'm going to get a flag to fly from  - a skull and crossbones with ICE PIRATES on it.  When I win the lottery I'm going to look at tracks.  Till then chains will have to do.

That gizmo really does save the back, though.   Take it from me, the way you blow discs is not from loading and unloading or carrying it so much, but its when the ice gets thick and leaning over and pulling it out of the deep ice.  Impossible to keep your back straight and lift properly.    Been there, done that.....
Turning the auger into an icy drill press is pure heaven.  The only thing more heavenlike would be actually catching a fish or two.   Wonder what that's like???

Moose used to make a mount for Otter's Auger Shield.  Dennis Kirk had one left so I nabbed it, I guess it's been discontinued.

Congrats, let us know how it works out.

If we ever get some ice I will be looking at something universal I can transfer from ATV to my snowmobile.

Not sure of your exact application is here, but I would look into industrial tank/cylinder straps. Them make them for mounting large oxygen/acytelene tanks to walls etc... Ambulances use them to mount large tanks of oxygen to the walls inside the external cabinets. You should be able to bolt the strap to the rack on your ATV or at a minimum onto a length of 2x10.  I'm not sure how thick the wall are on the Otter, but you can adjust the tork on these straps so you don't crush the Otter.  I would bet they'd be less than $25.

My old neighbor made a rack using a length of 10" PVC water main... the green stuff. He had that bolted onto a length of 2x10 and then bolted the 2x10 to the square tubing on his ATV rack, work well for him.
