How to get waypoints from a Garmin to a Lowrance

Does anyone know of an easy way to get waypoints from a hand held Garmin GPS over to Lowrance GPS. My dad just upgraded to a Lowrance H2O with a chip and he doesn't want to load his waypoints in by hand. I have a probram for my Garmin that will work on his garmin that enables me to pull the waypoints from the GPS but there is no way that I know of that I can load them onto the chip as there is a special program that the garmin uses. I should also mention that the garmin unit he has does not have a chip it is stored on the unit. I do have a bigger Garmin with all of his waypoints on it that does have a chip but it is not a standard memory chip it is a funky Garmin chip that they only appear to have made for a few years. Any suggestions?

There are various ways to do this with software out there now a days.  I kinda quit doing the research because I found what I needed a couple years ago.  Some of my research has escaped my mind enough that I don't want to rattle off software without making sure it still is around and it still offers the tools you are asking.

One great contact would be Korey at Kirsch Outdoor Products.  Another group of people would be a Yahoo User's Group I frequent.

If you had Lowrance Map Create you could float your cursor over each waypoint in the garmin, mark it on the PC in Map Create and then upload those points to the Lowrance.

This moment is a paradox, it's the oldest you've ever been as well as the youngest you'll ever be.

That is an option but every time I hear MapCreate I'd like to punch Lowrance in the guts.  They totally missed the boat on providing good software.  Everyone I know (me included) was angry after purchasing that software and have since moved onto better and even cheaper software.  Don't have a clue what Lowrance was thinking with MapCreate.  They lost a lot of customers dollars (dollars for MapCreate software).

There are lots of tools that will do it, but probably the easiet and one that is free is download the free version of OziExplorer. Just use Google or whatever your favorite search engine and you will find it. Set your GPS type to Garmin and bring in your waypoints, then switch the GPS to Lowrance and it will save out a .usr file upon export. . Load the .usr file into your Lowrance, upload your waypoints, and away you go. It really is easy. If you can't get it figured out, just send them to me in email and I will convert them and send them back. No charge, and I promise I won't peak at the waypoints

Truer words have rarely been written on this site.  MapCreate is one of the most frustratingly useless pieces of software I have ever seen.  Not sure who the intended audience was, but it ain't worth a crap for my uses.

I went to Kirsch's NDTRAX and haven't looked back.
