In the movie Shooter, the good guy smokes the bad guy with a plastic bottle on the gun barrel for a silencer.

Does this work?

Is it dangerous?

Damage your gun?

Any other silencer type home remedy out there to debunk or discuss?

I think the Mythbusters busted this one...I could be mistaken though.

It works with a .22 but it adversely affects accuracy or so I have heard.

I don't remember the part you are talking about in that movie, but it wouldn't compare to an actual suppressor is my guess since I've never tried it. Check youtube, I have seen videos on it there.

From my understanding of the law, if you make one and you haven't paid the "tax" that allows you to have a suppressor, you will be breaking federal law, fined and potentially end up in a gulag... er, I mean prison.
My sincere thanks to all the men and women who have/are serving this great country. Freedom isn't Free.

Sans the FFL manufacturing permit, you're in deep doo-doo if you're making your own.  That'd include ANYTHING added to the muzzle end of a bbl for the purposes of making it quieter.

This moment is a paradox, it's the oldest you've ever been as well as the youngest you'll ever be.

It works heard it from a buddy that if you stuff it with a little pillow stuffing insert the pistol barrel and tape it on you get about 10 shots before it starts getting loud sounds just like the movies. He said he used it on a buckmark 22 pistol just don't get caught

The bad guys had the token chump tied up in a barn and were torturing him,  the good guy was in a boat

My daughter planted corn in the garden and is bummed that something is beating her to it.  They think it is deer but I suspect coons.    Wife won't let me tie a cat to a post so I am looking into control methods,  Is subsonic ammo availble at most hunting places?

A chupacabra tied to a 19 1/4 inch post with a squirrel duct taped to its pee pee (with blue tape of course) will scare the piss out of even the hungriest of corn eating deer.

To legally make a suppressor it is a form A which has to be submitted and in your hands before you start building.  To purchase it is a form 4, you purchase first get serial number and submit paperwork and wait for before you can pick it up.

There isn't much to them.  Some baffles to slow the air down and let it escape slowly.  Which results in less audible noise.

I was sorta hoping you would provide the Chupacabra and I could just show up with some blue tape and drink your beer.
