Homeland Security purchases 2700 light armored tanks

Obama DHS Purchases 2,700 Light-Armored Tanks to Go With Their 1.6 Billion Bullet Stockpile

Posted by Jim Hoft on Sunday, March 3, 2013, 9:55 PM

This is getting a little creepy.
According to one estimate, since last year the Department of Homeland Security has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion bullets, mainly .40 caliber and 9mm.

DHS also purchased 2,700 Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicles (MRAP).

Modern Survival Blog reported:

The Department of Homeland Security (through the U.S. Army Forces Command) recently retrofitted 2,717 of these ‘Mine Resistant Protected’ vehicles for service on the streets of the United States.

Although I’ve seen and read several online blurbs about this vehicle of late, I decided to dig slightly deeper and discover more about the vehicle itself.

The new DHS sanctioned ‘Street Sweeper’ (my own slang due to the gun ports) is built by Navistar Defense (NavistarDefense.com), a division within the Navistar organization. Under the Navistar umbrella are several other companies including International Trucks, IC Bus (they make school buses), Monaco RV (recreational vehicles), WorkHorse (they make chassis), MaxxForce (diesel engines), and Navistar Financial (the money arm of the company).

DHS even released a video on their newly purchased MRAPs.
Via Pat Dollard:

The MRAP featured in this video is was in Albuquerque, New Mexico for Law Enforcement Day which was held at a local area Target Store. This MRAP is stationed in El Paso, Texas at The Homeland Security Investigations Office. MRAP is a Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicle.

What are the odds they will use these tanks to help seal off our border with Old Mexico?

Who authorizes these types of purchases? Do our congressmen have to sign off on this stuff, or is some appointed Zar able to just spend our money on anything the regime lets them

That's what I was thinking.  Don't think average citizens stand a chance against these.

Good question.  I emailed our fearless leaders in Washington, DC asking who has authorized all these Homeland Security purchases like the big ammo purchases etc. and haven't heard a damn thing back from any of them.

I would have to guess that they are preparing for an all out assault on US citizens.
I see no other valid reason the Homeland security should have these.  The guard and reserves would be the most logical choice(for pre deployment training).
These things can be taken out.  It just takes some preplanning.
At this time, the only thing I can think of is they acquired them because the Executive branch is planning something down the road.  This really looks bad.  But hey, dont worry, the government will see to our every need.

I wonder how hard it would be to acquire rpg's or bazooka's or things of this nature.  I would think a person could get our hands on this kind of stuff if we look hard enough.  I"m afraid that's what it's going to take.

I cannot see military or police members following orders to use these against fellow American law abiding citizens... even if our great leader changes the laws; I think they would have to be manned with anti-American personnel.

I have spent a goodly portion of my life in uniform.  I have many friends still serving in uniform.  They (and many more) agree that they will follow orders, but only lawful orders.  Orders based on the Constitution they have agreed to protect.

IF it comes to it, I look for much of the military to lay down their weapons or turn them on the facists who attack the citizen and the Constitution.  If they want a civil war, well then let's give it to them.

So could this be preparation to sometime in the future provide them with enough assets so that they could go around and confiscate weapons, after they have had them registered?

I agree that regular soldiers probably won't fire on friends and neighbors. BUT, when soldiers from the south are sent north and soldiers from the north are sent south, they aren't fighting friends and neighbors anymore.

History lesson, The Nazis gave power to the some Jews and they rounded up their OWN PEOPLE, from their neigherborhood. If they give power, security, and peace of mind to police or military you would be surprise how many would turn against us.

Hate to say it but history has shown how power can influence the weak, russia cambodia, germany.
