try long lake....drive 2 miles south on the ice till you hit the pressure ridge then drill 5 holes exactly 4.2 feet away from each other and drop a cloverdale hotdog down one and get a swedish pimple from some lady and drop it down the oppisite hole and sing hey we want some crappie hey we want some crappie! should catch a snot rocket doing that or maybe just a cold!

Shoot to kill.

We had alot of action on round lake by drake about a month ago, we went probably 5 times and limited every time on 14"-16"  walleyes with a few 18" here and there. Also lots of decent perch kept roughly 30 every time we went. Caught fish in deeper water, 16-22 fow. Nothing in the shallows at the time. Go to lure for us was small blue and white flyers with small minnow heads and lots of jigging. Not too many fish on the deadsticks. Also if anyone has kids and wants to get in some fun perch action crooked lake north of turtle lake is loaded with little 6" perch. Went one time we caught easily over 200 perch, seemed like a perch every 15 seconds everywhere we drilled.

Hope this helps

So you got a bite...You detected the bite...You set the hook and the line is tight...And now your in for a fight...But whose gonna win?

Good to see everybody would like to help a fellow fisherman out. A guy comes on asking for some help finding fish and everybody gets tight lipped all of a sudden. Oh wait, forgot nobody likes to give out pointers in fear somebody might fish their holes. Guess people will have to find another site for such discussions as there isn't much friendly advise left on this site nowadays.

It doesn't get any better than Lake Winnipeg.  I guess they are going around Balsam Harbour.  When you're on them, it's like good panfishing, but small walleyes are 20 inches or less!

I know its hard to believe with all the awesome information you've recieved above, so take it with a big ass sarcastic grain of salt but... straight accross from landing 3 in 17 to 22 feet of water, 1 hour before & after sunrise and an hour before & after sunset (even sporadic through out the day)  red dots are where I have caught walleyes this year. some are dinks some are nice, depends on the day.  some days dead stick plain hook & a minnow other days jigging a buckshot with a minnow.  either way, you should have no problem pulling a walleye of any size thru the ice here.

Any advice on skunk bay MSA, I am going to be up there this weekend and need to catch 5 hogs Sat and Sun.

If we're not supposed to eat animals, how come they're made out of meat?

there was open water there, I fished about 20 feet from it on 16" of ice before the cold -20 below week we had.  That ice where the open water was should be 10 to 13" last I heard.

I walked accross from landing 3 dragging my gear in a sled.
