Photo Description:
Took this nice doe with one of my concurrent tags a couple weeks ago.

Gave me a good shot at 20 yards and I hit her just a bit further back then I wanted. A minute later I hear a huge crash that scared the rest of the deer out of the area. Apparently she did a death run and went head first into a tree not 40 yards from where I shot her! Not sure if my broadhead or the tree was responsible, but either way it worked! :)

Thanks guys!

Ya at the time I was tickled to have some fresh backstraps for the grill and sausage to feed my family...but after reading all these threads I'm now  feeling pretty guilty about contributing to the demise of our deer herd in ND. I guess I just didn't realize it's that bad out there?

The kill is the satisfying, indeed essential, conclusion to a successful hunt. But, I take no pleasure in the act itself. One does not hunt in order to kill, but kills in order to have hunted. Then why do I hunt? I hunt for the same reason my well-fed cat hunts...because I must, because it is in the blood, because I am the decendent of a thousand generations of hunters. I hunt because I am a hunter.- Finn Aagard

I've got one from opening day that I haven't had a chance to post yet. Hmm . . . maybe we shouldn't post anymore buck pics, does only!

Truth be told, since I started deer hunting 14 years ago, I have killed at least 6 does for every buck I have ever shot. This includes rifle, bow, and muzzleloader. Nothing wrong with whackin a baldy, especially with the bow!

I very much look forward for the smoke to clear from rifle season, the ground to fill up with snow, dress all in white head to toe, and go whack a doe via the bow.
