help with bird id

I need help identifying a water bird here in Bismarck and western ND.   It looks kind of like a Long-Billed Dowitcher   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long-billed_Dowitcher

or even a Common Snipe    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Snipe
however I don't think it is either one.   It makes an very obvious "whoop whoop whoop whoop" sound.   They often fly fairly high and are kind of a rust brown color with a long beak.    I spent an hour digging around on the internet and I'm not convinced I have it identified.   Thanks

They have a pretty distinct call and are all over the prairies right now.
