I'm piggy backing on the "handguns for females" thread.   I know several females that are considering getting a handgun including my wife.  Some want to take a training course and their significant others don't think their boyfriends/husbands are smart enough to train them.   Maybe they are right.   Anyway....who puts on a good training course for handguns....looking for more of the self defense/concealed carry/stop home invader type of course.  Most of these women have never shot a handgun.  Thanks.

This is wise not to do.. My wife and I tried skiing a couple weekends ago and it was her first time.  The first thing I did was march myself to the desk and open the wallet to pay for some lessons.  Some times we take short cuts with training or showing those we love and it doesnt often end well.  I have now learned if lessons are available I will pay for them just so they get started.  Just remember its easy to get mad at the one you love but not so much with a stranger who is trying to help you...

"The time at which I stand before you is full of interest. The eyes of all nations are fixed on our Republic. The event of the existing crisis will be decisive in the opinion of mankind of the practicability of our federal system of government. Let us realize the importance of the attitude in which we stand before the world. Let us exercise forbearance and firmness. Let us extricate our country from the dangers which surround it and learn wisdom from the lessons they inculcate."

Rick does an excellent job. And he's willing to come to you to put on a class. If you can get a decent sized class together. www.ccwacademy.com

There aren't many (guys or gals) that wouldn't benefit from some sort of formal training....for those that have had training, refresher courses are also a must IMO.  Then afterwards you need to practice what you've been taught, then practice it some more, then again and again.

Dry firing and snapping in is a cheap way to remain fresh without sending rounds down range but nothing will replace actual firing.  Muscle memory goes away if you don't practice, and muscle memory is what you need when the "bleep" hits the fan.
