WAHPETON, N.D. - The Richland County Sheriff's Office has put three handguns out of commission after determining they could be faulty and misfire.

Sheriff Larry Leshovsky said his office examined its firearms after a gun misfired late last year. A deputy's handgun accidentally went off when the deputy was holstering it during an arrest.

The bullet went through the deputy's billfold, but no one was hurt. The state crime bureau is investigating.

Leshovsky say a master armorer will examine the three handguns taken out of service.

Glocks do tend to misfire when something pulls the trigger.

Don't balme the guy for mishandling his weapon, blame the weapon.  Sounds like government thinking at its best.

Generally when you have your finger on the trigger thats what happens.

I joined the military not only to fight for my country but to fight for those that can't fight for themselves. Thats why I'm here.
