Better try the pics again, but I'm pretty sure I know what you are talking about. i'm not sure what exactly they are "medically" speaking however I have seen things like you are describing quite a few times, mostly on fins or the head of walleyes and saugers. I think they are cysts maybe and are harmless as far as eating the meat is concerned. However i have never seen they attached to any traditionally edible flesh, only skin deep.

I dont go around guessing cup sizes either I just know a nice rack when I see one.

Ok after seeing that pic, that is more than I've seen on any one fish though.

I caught a sauger on the red last year with the one of those cyst things on it.  I caught the same fish 2 days later so I got to look at it twice.  Very nasty looking, but I am not sure what it is.

They are common, not supppsed to be a threat to health, I've caught plenty eyes/saugs in the Red with them. But they sure are gross.

This occurs on mature female fish every 28 days or so.  A strange fact of nature it is, along with the fact that this fish also appear to be overly grumpy during this same time!

If we're not supposed to eat animals, how come they're made out of meat?

Its a viral disease. Catch them all the time on the red as well. Hard to stomach eating one so they go back.
