Went out today and nailed them right after we got there. Caught 35 kept 18 all perch and all over 4 inches. Great fishing first 2 hours good the next 2 hours and crappy the rest of the time. So if you want to go out I suggest in the morning.

Hammered the EYE's 1 mile North of the Grano bridge.  Used a purple spinner with crawler.  Nice nice nice nice NICE! Fish.  Caught a fair share of pike.  Got bit off about 3 times.  Bring plenty of bait.  I ran out of crawlers and had to use 3inch gulp minnows.  Didn't seem to matter.  They were on a mission and that mission led them to my cleaning table. Boom! Boom! Boom!

Fished Grano again with my oldest daughter and Northerns are still VERY hot out their.  We caught out limit.....6!   We had two 5lbs/Three 4lbs/one 3.5lbs.  We used spoons and smelt. There were about 10 boats out there saw a few bring up Northerns and Walleyes on south side of bridge.

First time up at Grano Crossing, got a couple bites but that was it.  I was using a lindy rig with night crawlers and leeches.  Was another guy up there and he got one while I was there about 12 in walleye.

Fished Grano Crossing from the shore tonight before the storm started moving in.  The action started with the very first cast and continued pretty steady until I left 1 1/2 hours later.  Despite a couple of inconsiderate boaters who kept encroaching on the area I was casting  to, it was a good night.  Ended up with a limit that included a 22 inch and a 25 inch walleye.   Threw several small walleye back.  I had one other really nice fish break off before I could get the net under him.  I guess that is the chance you take when you fish alone.  A live bait presentation on a lindy rig (about 3 foot snell) and colored hook was the ticket tonight.   Saw several northerns caught on artificial baits.  None for me and I'm thankful.

Took my daughter and visiting mother to Grano today and it was HOTT for Northerns.  We caught 10 and kept 7.  22-28.5 inches in length and the largest weighed 5lbs.  My mother has not fished in 15 yrs and caught 4 out of the 10!!  She had a wonderful time and loved the fight of the Great Northern Pike!  We used black & white/red & white/yellow 5 of diamond spoons all morning long.

Put the boat in at Grano and hit the west side by the bridge.  Picked up a huge pike on the first cast with a crank bait.  No more hits after that and moved the east side, again no more fish.  Went under the bridge and started on the east side.  Fished with crawlers and were catching a lot of small eyes.  Started switching to minnows and leeches.  Nothing on minnows, but the leeches were the bait of choice.  Caught some real nice eyes in 12-14 FOW, using spinners and bottom bouncers.

Hit up Grano Saturday for some walleye/pike action.  Picked up three real nice walleyes in the first 15 minutes and then it complety died.  Started catching pike after pike with a few small walleyes and perch mixed in.  Water temps were around the 75 degree mark.  Water is very stained with limited visibility.  Ended the day with 6 keeper walleyes and tossed back about 15 or more pike.  Should start throwing them on shore as there are way too many pike in that lake right now.

Took the chance and drove to Grano, road is open and water levels have dropped about 3-4 feet from originally where they were at before the major flooding began.  Fished for Northerns and it was hot.  My daughter and I caught 8, kept 5.  All were 25-27 inches/3-4lbs. Hitting on smelt and spoons.

Fished Grano this morning, 6am-1130am, with my daughter and the Northerns are still biting good.  Caught 6 kept 4,  each were 4lbs, 2 were about 1/4 mile down the road facing the SW side.  Saw a few folks pull up some eyes on the bridge as well.  Daughter wasn't keeping an eye on her pole and the northern took the pole right into the water, so I had to jump into about 3-4 feet of water.... got her pole and also land the sucker  as well.  It was a great day to fish and her and I will never forget the day that Dad jumped into Lake Darling for a 4lb Northern and a pole.  LOL!!
