grand forks ice fishing

im going to visit a freind in grand forks on monday and i was wondering if people have been out fishing on the red yet or if there was any lakes close by that would be worth trying. thanks

It is if you know what you're doing or have any experience fishing rivers through the ice.

Use the ND Game and Fish Lakes by county map, click on Grand Forks (or however far your willing to drive) and do some research on stocking reports, species, etc. The vast majority of the smaller lakes and dams within an hour of Grand Forks are going to be froze over with 4 to 6 inches.
