I just can't believe that a report from two people about little itsy bitsy goose lake started all this Bull****. I am a proud supporter of fishing and hunting in ND. And i also believe that all youth should definitely be involved someway. Like i have said before, Goose Lake is small and if you choose to fish it all year round or just winter or summer that's your choice. I must say after reading some of your post's they are quite entertaining! Hope to see all of you out there this winter for a huge perch and walleye feed. (But remember the lake is small so standing room only) There will only be enough food and Beer for 5,000 people so tell your relatives over in NY and WI maybe next time, HAHA

ALL IN FUN AND GAMES
GOD BLESS AND GOOD FISHING!!!!

I can't believe "NUMBNUTZ" like you go out in public! The only BullSh!t was the SPEW coming out your mouth on both the reports page and on this post.

Yeah uh huhhhh, your a proud supporter....LMAO! You support only what's good for yourself and your local yocals. Go hump a prairie goat son, cuz you've already lost all sympathy.

The only thing entertaining is how you just keep digging a deeper hole. Either you are too sheltered or flippin' short changed to realize you're better off just closing your piehole.

The only thing you're finally coming around to is that we'll come fishing any time we damned well please!

and one other thing...please remember this is all in "fun and games." LMAO and remember to tell the YOCALS to keep the lights on cuz we're coming!

Yo BadBoyz this is a fishing and hunting website not a BET site!!! I would be pleased to see you out fishing sometime so i can show you what's really up in da fishin' hood... And as far as my yocals haha i barely converse with them anyway. Stop acting like your cool because your not and by the way if considering yo mama to be a prairie goat then I'D LOVE TO GO HUMP IT!!!

sorry Tim S. things got out of control on this thread very quickly and some emails regarding this should definitely be sent out to all of us regarding our behaviors. I'm at fault just like everyone else that wrote...

GOD BLESS and WONDERFUL FISHING

Why doesn't everyone just shut up about this lake it will be fished out before you know it and it can't possibly be that good unless the eyes are really small

I was reading the report page,It made me sick that people act like this over fishing summer or winter. fishing is a great sport. ndgf do a great job in getting the fish to catchable size. to catch some with the family is the best part of it. greed is the worse part. you all need to look at the whole picture not just your own.

FYI

Goose Lake:

Surface area: 945 acres
Max depth: 20.4 feet
Shoreline: Approx. 13 miles

There is a map of this lake on the NDG&F website.

The ave. size fish caught 12 inches but, plenty of fish caught in the 14 inch range with some bigger. All fish caught by this group were released.

What a bummer. I guess I will just have to go to Lake Erie again this weekend. It's no Goose Lake but hopefully I can land a keeper or two. For the record, Lake Erie is a small lake and is at best a marginal open water fishery that should only be fished by locals who are qualified and entitled to fish this lake.

Let me tell you, in my years of ice fishing small lakes in ND, I have experienced lots of locals with the same attitude as this joker. They see folks from Fargo, Bismarck and other "big" towns (big towns have stoplights) as invaders to their personal fisheries. Too bad the lakes are stocked by a department that all residents and ..oohh no..here comes a shocker...NON RESIDENTS who fish in ND fund. If you are fishing a public water stocked by the ND G&F you have no more of a right to fish that lake as anybody else. Some people just don't play nice with others.

This is still my favorite FBO thread ever. Keep it going!!!

You know I have been reading this post and it makes me sick that you guys are that childish that you sit here and talk smack with each other instead of the normal people on here trying to learn different things about fishing and hunting and maybe get something out of this website. Fishing is a wonderful pastime for everyone and there are plenty of lakes in ND that we should not have to fight over one. Be a sportsman, follow the rules, and maybe our children will someday be about to have the fun and success we have at some of these lakes. Tim if I was you I would get rid of stupid posts like this. Good luck everyone out there and be safe on there water.

I agree there Permo! Topics like this keep things on the lighter side, instead of talking about the same old topics on baiting, deer lottery, etc.

On the report side of it, I heard the fish "Are jumping in the boat!" If I wasn't out of town, I'd try it out myself. Nothing like fishing new lakes that are known to produce!

I agree FIO...

And speaking learning new things, heres some basic math.

Goose Lake has approx. 13 miles of shroeline. If each fisherman (fishing from shore) designates a 4 foot strip of shoreline for themselves, we should be able to squeeze in about 17,160 people on land and the remaining 1585 FBO members should fit in boats, conoes and rafts.

Regulator,

Did it take you all day to come up with those calculations?

I figure even with your basic calculations (counting with fingers...and toes) there's plenty of room for everyone and the G&F supplied enough walleye for all to take some home for supper, after all, it's a fishery open to the public. Now that would be one heck of a good time! I'll save you a spot right next to Badboyz.

Regulator: I love the math!! That is awesome..Boats, canoes and rafts??...I am also considering trailering my custom submarine to the lake just in case the surface of the water is saturated with watercraft. Submarines are relatively new to walleye fishing, and the logistics of reeling fish in, deploying rods and everything else hasn't been entirely perfected but practice makes perfect!

FIO: I agree with you. On a serious note. The small lakes in eastern half of the State are a very untapped walleye fishery. The game and fish has realized that the super fertile perch boom in these lakes is over and is now stocking walleye..well they have been for over 5 years. So now, many lakes that are going have limited natural reproduction but amazing walleye growth rates, are availabl. now. I was glad to hear that people are starting to utilize them in the summer months. There are literally hundreds of them. I can't wait to come back and fish them soon..next year!!!

Now submarines would be something to think about. That would be a blast to watch the walleyes hit your crank, while trolling through the depths. Imagine looking out the window at a hungry eye smashing your crank! How would you hmm, boat the fish once hooked though? I'd say resurface, but that sounds like a lot of work. Like you said, there's a few kinks to be worked out.

I hear ya on the new "walleye lakes". Many of the "old" perch lakes now have been stocked with walleye and they are growing at a phenominal rate. I've had the pleasure to fish a few of these lakes and the eyes are all fat, healthy, and hungry.

It only took a couple of hours to work out the calculations.
It would have taken alot longer if it would'nt have been fot the 6th and 7th toes on my right foot...And that third nipple was a huge time saver.

It is funny how this has gotten blown out of proportion. I dont think iceking meant that he thinks the fish are for locals only or winter fishing only. He was just angry the same way I was that some moron has to post on fishing buddy about this small lake. End of story. The fish in the state are fair game for anybody with a valid fishing license and i dont see how anybody can argue against that. If you are looking for a fishing report and you find it on fishing buddy you are TOO LATE!!! The state is full of small lakes that have awesome walleye fishing right now. Research the stocking report and go find them.

If this thread has made at least one more person aware of the over abundance of eater sized walleye in Goose Lake, the thread has done what it was created to do. If more than one person hit Goose Lake last weekend it has been a triumphant success !!!

I guess im to moron you are talking about, or were you talking about all the other morons that reported on goose lake all winter and ealy spring.

Ya, maybe my report was a little over the top. Im not afraid to admit it. Fact is, i'm ganna tell it how it is. There are small lakes that get reported on every day. After all it is a REPORT PAGE. IF you were looking in the reports for central ND, you were probably looking for a report...right??? Well i gave you one. Or maybe you were making sure nobody let the word out on your secret lake.

Point is, reports are reports...That is one of the reasons this is a great web site.

If you dont like it, DON'T READ IT!!!

Tightlines,

Thanks for unclearing that up for us. You and Iceking_07 having trouble with the English language as of late?

As posted in the reports page and already reiterated on here at least once, here is Iceking_07's post on Goose Lake
You know it's a real shame that you have to fish a winter fishery, being goose lake, in the summer and spring!! Just because we started catching some walleyes this past winter there, doesn't mean that everyone should go overfish it in the summer. Leave this lake a winter fishery, and being that this lake is so small you shouldn't be bragging on here to go fish there. Come this winter, there won't be any fishing if you keep this up!!!!

You know alot of the small lakes around here are being overfished and it would be good to leave this lake as a winter fishery (ONLY). So in the future the ND G&F will keep stocking this lake>

iceking_07 | Aug 2, 2007 10:42AM"

So did you two attend the same school for English or just miss the same lessons? He clearly states that it's a winter fishery and shouldn't be "overfished" by using it in the summer.

Just curious, but why would the NDGF continue to stock it if the lake doesn't get used? It would seem to me that the more it gets used the more likely it would to get stocked. No sense in stocking a lake full of fish that nobody is using, right?

FYI, iceking has moderated his tune from the initial post that started all this. From "it would be good to leave this lake as a winter fishery (ONLY)" world to a "Like i have said before, Goose Lake is small and if you choose to fish it all year round or just winter or summer that's your choice" of the lake and its fishery". Amazing what a little change in wording will do. If that's what he initially wanted, then that's what he should have written. He would have gotten a heck of a lot less grief.

Perhaps you and iceking can chip in together to go buy a stock tank so you can have your own little fishing pond and then you can write reports on it that won't do the rest of us any good.

So it would seem that you both are likely to frequent the reports pages to see how and where people are doing well. But like to keep how you are doing and where (when it's in your selfish interests) to yourselves.

I for one would love to see the "members only" section come back. I have no qualms about sharing my fishing experiences with others who do the same, sure exact locations aren't always in my reports (maybe I will say a few miles north of Bismarck on the Missori in the rocks) but hell you don't even want to give out the name of the water body. You lurkers (pronounced leeches) really perturb those of us who do share reports of the good and bad.

And the new members only (dues paying) section rules would change to "If I haven't posted X number of reports in a given year, then I get the boot". No reason to be a member of the willing to share club if all you want to do is be a leech on society.

yellowjacket,

Which one of them are you calling a nad? (refer to your last post)

Either way I agree, they are a couple of nads and shouldn't be surprised one bit that people decided to have a little fun at their expense after they started whining about their precious lake. Had these two nads not started griping in the first place, this thread never have gotten off the ground in the first place.

By the way, who is the prick who started this whole thread anyway...oh year, it was me. :)
