Anybody run these?  I spied them at walmart the other night.  Looked to be a pretty decent tire, and damn sure a decent price.  Also, hard to find a load rating on them...I'd need load range E 235 85 R16, but their tires had a different rating system.

Just curious if anyone has tried them out.

I say to hell with that pot o' gold.

A tire sales rep told me one time Walmart tires are not the same as from a "real dealer". Anybody know if that is true?

I worked at a Dealership. We got our tires direct from Goodyear, Michelin, etc. We were told the same thing by our Dealertire rep. Example, instead of a Goodyear Eagle, Walmart will have a Goodyear Freedom and so on and so on. Remember. You get what you pay for, and with tires, I don't know if I could go Wal-mart. Maybe a tires plus or something and get a  Bridgestone or that particular chain's tire.

I don’t doubt it…back when I was in high school I use to mess around with car stereos a lot and my buddy worked at a place that was a Pioneer dealer so we used to talk to the factory rep and order straight out of the catalog…well Wal-Mart starts carrying Pioneer stuff however none of their model numbers are in the Pioneer catalog…hmmmm…here we find out that Pioneer along with other major companies often make product lines specifically for Wal-Mart…lot of the times they look just like the other models their just made cheaper…another example a few years back Wal-Mart started carrying Schwinn bikes…most of the time half the price of other bicycle dealers…the difference was all the Wal-Mart Schwinn bikes were made with cheaper accessories…the shifting mechanisms and brakes and gears were lesser quality or different brands then a Schwinn you’d buy at Scheel’s or somewhere else.

This is the exact reason I don't like Walmart, they demand their suppliers make them certain products and if they don't play ball they don't sell their products anywhere. The companies can hardly afford to lose that volume so they do what their told. I have a buddy who worked for rubbermaid. He said they were selling something like a 4 gallon and a 6 gallon tote to Walmart. One day Walmart says "we don't want your 4 gallon for $8  and we don't want your 6 gallon tote for $12, we want you to make a 5 gallon for $8.50. They get an individual product and the companies have to do a new design specifically for them.

I wouldn't doubt if they would drop in quality to cover the cost of doing a new design and I'm sure this is true of many companies that sell to Walmart.

yeah,  Walmart has some leverage that is for sure.    Anyway,  forgot to mention that the "dealer" told me there is not as much tread on a Walmart tire.

Like many things in life, that part is easy enough to check.  Grab a caliper the next time you are Wally World and measure them.

I suspect it is a little of both.  I for one am not afraid to buy products from Walmart or Sam's Club that are identical to those offered at the dealer.  However, I do tend to shy away from branded items at Walmart that are not available at the manufacturers other distributors.  Tires included.

Then again, I haven't had a set of tires on my pickup make it to anything near the wearout warranty in many years.  Hunting areas with scoria roads and sage stumps is tough on tires regardless of the brand.

Walmart can be good on a lot of things and cheap on others. Tires, electronics and many other items are 'made for Walmart' and not of particularily high end quality. Im not a fan of most their grocery either. but, many of the Walmart brand food products are excellent and at a great price, hanging next to the name brand. live and learn as there are some deals.

I love my Wranglers!

Woulda been nice to have during the flood, that's for sure. It probably would've saved me 2 or 3 days of using the boat. I had the Firestone Destinations that were maybe 50% worn so there wasn't much grabbing the washed out roads!

They're the duratracs. Not too bad for highway noise. I really love them though.

My brother runs duratracs and he loves them. Great traction noise isn't to bad, now just gotta see what they wear like. Oh and good luck at the fuel pump with that V-10 Josh!

I'm hoping to get 2 years out of them, if so I'll be happy.

You know, there isn't a real noticeable difference between this and my 5.4L I traded..........From Bismark to Fargo was 1/2 tank, and from Fargo to GF 1/4 tank.

Anyways it's probably a couple less miles to the gallon.

The extra room with 4 doors is worth a few less MPG's in my mind. Plus  better power for towing. You will like the V-10... its a good motor!
