Report Details
Fished Golden from about noon to 4:00 on Saturday. Action on the small perch was constant. Used a small green genz on a hanger rig. Used both wax worms and minnow heads, but minnow heads worked best. Wanted to fish just a plain minnow as well, but was too busy with one rod to even think of trying two. Looked at the contour map the G&F has on their website and just fished in the middle. Had a couple feet of fish below me the entire time. Only kept 4 that measured at 11-12 inches but also threw back about 10 that measured a hair over 9" and were marginal keepers. Also caught a few really small northerns. Easy to drive around and the ice was nice and solid. Thanks to whomever's keeping the entrance open. With Devils Lake so snowbound it was just great to be able to get out and catch some fish.

Re:I am a retired guy with lots of time on my hands and would love to learn how use my new toys for ice fishing. Anyone out there willing to show me how to do it?? I want to use my Vexilar profeciantly, also have a gps with ND Trax chip in it which has I believe has all the ND lakes and perhaps we could go to a few others..Thanks a bunch for any help.
