GM said it will focus on its four core brands - Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC - with Pontiac coming to an end next year. At that point, GM said it will offer a total of only 34 different models, down from 48 in 2008.
The Detroit giant also said it would phase out the Pontiac brand by the end of 2010, reduce its dealers to 3,605 from 6,246, and cut its workforce to about 40,000 from 61,000.
hhhmmmm....maybe their getting the point that quality over quantiy is the way to go...
For US auto makers have been playing catch-up, it seems their response is always more models...I have not been a fan of the Pontiac line since the mid-80's...I really hope this helps GM
