i am just trying to find out some ideas from people, what to use as a net or basket for the wing walls? ive heard a few things but i wanna know what people are using. thank you for any info.

Re:I just take a normal net add three pieces of wire on each side and add something inside the net to weigh it down so it goes under water like a piece of metal pipe. Works alot better then those milk crates those can be hard to get a fish in.

Re:I have seen all kinds of homemade jobbies. From crates to buckets to nets. What JJ59 said is probably the best way to go especially if you hook into something big. I have used a bucket with holes drilled in the bottom with some rocks in it. It worked but wouldn't want to be stuck using it if I caught a whopper. |

Re:I would have to say the best is to get a 10 speed bike rim and some sort of laundry bag. Connect the two and for the handle, use some sort of wire connected to a rope. On the handle, have two point of contacts on each side right next to the rim. Usually throw a rock or something in the bottom when fishing to weight it down in the water. Works great, have brought up 10 lb Northerns with this type of hoist net. |
