Garmin lake maps question

I have had a lowrance h20 ifinder for a few years and have not been very impressed with the accuracy of it.  I recently found a garmen oregon 450t for a steal of a price and am now in pursuit of buying lake maps for it.  My question is that there is lake master dakotas, but there is also the inland lake vision for the north certral region.  This inland lake vision covers MN, Dakotas, Iowa, MO, IL, IN, OH, MI, and WI.  So it seem lik a much better deal than the lake master that covers just the dakotas.  I want the maps with the most info on them contour, accurate, depth readings (change by 1 foot incruments) ect.  Does anyone own, or know anything about the differences between them.  I am comfortable with buying maps for each indivual state as I need them if they are more accurate that way.

I do not know anything about the Garmin Lake map software.

One word of advice is to make sure any product you buy boasts mostly SURVEYED contours.  Lakemaster, Navionics and Trax products sport surveyed lake products.  Differing from Lakemaster and Navionics Trax also offers land data instead of just water.

I have the chip and use it for Jamestown Resivoir and Pipestem. The depths (greater than 10')are accurate, but the shoreline out to 10 feet is poor. I didnt use it much on Pipestem and the water rise and fall is not calculated in.

The distinction to keep in mind is that map cards, such as LakeMaster's have "high definition" lake maps that you don't get with built in maps. BIG difference in detail and accuracy on those lakes compared to standard definition maps.  Review the lake lists for the map card area you want.  If you see your lakes are listed as available in high definition, that's the map you want.  Most big box stores will demo a card for you.
