Went to Hunts Along on Friday and did not fair well. Tried catching some sauger but they would not take in 40-55' of water just off the break. Used jig and minnow and nothing. Went back into the bays as far as I could go and found 45 degree water and all I was able to catch was a 12-15lb pike in 8ft of water. Had some followers as well but no takers. Tuff day of fishing but still had a great...Read more

Fished around the island at Beulah Bay, caught pike in both 10 fow and 24 fow.  Minnows and herring were the ticket on tipups. Bite shut down around 6:00 or so.  Caught one 6.5lb fish and a 10lb fish.  Had another one that was up to the hole but but off the line.  I bet that one was about a 7lb fish.Read more

Fished the east end of sakakawea. Saw a handful of really nice perch on the camera but was using bigger baits trying to target walleye. In hindsight it would have been smarter to go after the perch. Fished 32' of water and ended up catching a couple and missing a couple. The bites we did have were within 20 minutes of each other right before dark. The ones we caught were around 15-16 inches....Read more

Fished yesterday West of beulah bay. Ended up getting my 5 from 15"-17". 24' of water. Caught about 20 fish total, a lot in the 14" range. Marked continuous smelt schools out in the 30'-35'. Moved in shallower on the point to get away from them and that's where I found fish that would bits. Caught all fish from 4:30-7:00. Read more

It would be a nice day if not for 25 mph wind.  Moved from shallow to deeper water along south side of Redo Island. 1 Small perch, 1 4 lb Slough Shark, Snot Rocket, ok Northern Pike... and one smelt (yeah via hook and line)  Pike was full of smelt and the smelt wouldn't leave our lines alone.  Used minnows, and gulp.  Can't wait for Ice out and go smelting.Read more

Been fishing White Earth Bay quite a bit the last couple weeks. We seem to max out at about 2 walleyes a night. We started out fishing 22' to 28' then moved out to 32+. We  had our best luck in 33' on red hooks/minnows and perch pattern jigs. All our bites came from 4p-6p.

We just hit Tobacco Gardens on Saturday, fished in 27' and caught walleyes/sauger from 10a-noon and again at about...Read more

I tried spearing all day Tuesday in the Douglas Bay and NE bays of the lake.  I saw only 3 small northerns - too small to spear.  The ice was pretty good.  There was very little water on the ice.  The water was really running down the small creeks etc. as the temp. was in the upper 40's.Read more

Went out to the same main lake point that has been producing the last few weeks. I was surprised all the water on top of the ice has been froze solid. Did not find any slush pockets at all, but i did walk out the 1/2 mile from shore. Measured 15" of clear solid ice where i set up in 27' of water. Only drilled the 3 holes in my shack due to the crazy wind and being by myself. Didn't really...Read more

Went out to Douglas Bay last Sunday.  Fished the northern back bays.  Ice was 18+ inches thick.  Punched a lot of holes looking for eyes.  Fish depths from 8ft to 36ft with minimal success.  We managed 1 18" eye, a 12lb northern, and a Cisco.  Threw the whole tackle box at them with no colors or lures being favored.  There was 1-2" of water on the ice, so if you're out plan on getting some...Read more
