Went salmon fishing for the first time this last weekend. We hit up some of the bays in the state park. First day we had some wind and they seemed to hit floating crank baits and spoons, but most of the action was just before sunrise to about an hour after sunrise. Fishing was slow, had 2 bites and 1 good hook up. Fish went on a couple runs, and when I got it close to shore it took off and broke the line on a rock. Didn't see anyone else catch any either, but they were jumping all over. Guess it just wasn't my day.Read more

Fished from shore for salmon early this morning, great action before sunrise. Ended up keeping 5, missed as many more. A gold or firetiger rattle trap worked real slow was the ticket. Did I mention SLOW? fish completely stopped biting at sun up.Read more

Trolled spinners on the southside for a little bit this morning. When we got tired of the wind I spent the morning teaching the daughter how to drive the boat. Only one bite.Read more

Pulled spinners and Lindy's with a mix of crawlers and gulp. Got four. We found humps in bays on the south side . 18 to 45 foot of water.Read more

Went out to White Earth Bay, very slow day, no walleyes, just white bass.  water temp was 53. tried jigs, lindy rigging, slow death, spinners,  and cranks.  marked lots of fish but no bites. Read more
