Quick question for all who fish devils lake on a regular basis. If I were to hire a guided trip through perch patrol for the simple reason I'd like to get my father and grandfather on some fish since my grandfather is getting old and might be his last time ice fishing with me... is it better to fish with them early ice, mid winter or late ice. Keep in mind that my grandfather will not walk...Read more
Even though there have been very few reports posted to this page in quite some time, there are still some folks fishing Devils Lake. I was out Sunday 10-11-15 in the morning for a few hours and got my limit of eyes. I was well off the lake before the wind picked up. I was fishing in about 16-18 pulling crawlers on one rig and gulp minnow on another. Got my five in a little over 3 hours. ...Read more
On Friday the 3rd we started up in the New Mil area with slip bobbers and leeches, in water ranging from 9-14 feet. We ended up with a limit of fish in the 15-17" range with 1 C&R 25" Walleye.
On Saturday the 4th of July we changed it up and went into Pelican where we pulled spinners along a road at roughly 10 feet of water. We fished for 2 hours and had our 3 man limit of 18-22"...Read more
My son & I fished 6/19 thru 6/21. The fishing was great, nothing big but lots of action. We fished out of Grahams Island and went west from there. We spent 5 to 6 hrs a day fishing and averaged 80 to 100 walleyes a day. Most fish were 13 to 15" with a few 17" mixed in. Had to sort thru a lot of fish to keep decent eaters. The first day we used slip bobbers on the humps in 14' to 21' of...Read more
Fish again this weekend on the west end of the lake and never had a problem getting the fish to bite. Had our limit both day in under two hours. Talked to some others who said they struggled. Read more
From when we went there two weekends ago, the Pelican Lake landing was like a foot deep, no one was putting in there. We went to Graham's island and drove up to Pelican. Did very well pitching cranks.Read more
Sorry not a report, just planning a trip to fish Pelican Lake this weekend and curious to where a guy can put his boat in? I seen a topic a few weeks ago on it and can no longer find it. I've fished Devils Lake for years now and would like to try some new parts of the lake, thanks!

I'm assuming DL fishing must be VERY slow right now. No one, including the bait shops, are taking the time to post fishing reports. Even the DL tourism site's last post was on April 30th !- not a good enticement to come join in the fun?
Heading to Devils Lake with the wife this weekend and we're bringing the fishing poles to shore fish Friday evening. Looking to catch anything with fins. I use to fish off the bottom with a leech for walleye but wondering if it is to early for that. Any information on what bait, jigs, plastics, ect. to use would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Just wondering if walleyes are biting up shallow yet? Looking at going up for this weekend, had fun a couple years ago in May up there and wanted to give it a go. Not looking for anything specific just haven't heard much yet this year. Thanks!Read more

Same as last couple reports, I'm wondering how access and ice conditions are. The wife isn't too keen on me heading up there for one last day tomorrow so I need some positive juice to ease her mind...
likely be on Pelican or somewhere in that area. Any access reports or general ice reports today would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Went out on Sunday. Fished for perch during the day and caught a few nice ones. We were fishing the old shoreline in about 25 feet of water. Graphed fish pretty steady, but they were not much for biters. Switched to walleyes at about 4:00 and moved to an old road bed. We started off the road, graphed a few but slow until about 6:00 then we moved up on top of the road. The bite was steady,...Read more
The ice and shore were fine on Sunday March 15th. There is water in spots and others are starting to Honeycomb. We drove ATV's without issue. The fishing was hot, you had to move to find them. If you talk to any of the bait shops they offer no help, some are simply down right rude. Buy bait from the ones that will be truthful. Be courteous when on the lake, drive with caution around...Read more
