Game Camera Viewer

Every time I go out to collect the SD cards from the trail cameras I cant help but think that it would be really nice to be able to view these on the spot and put the SD card back into the camera.  It occured to me that with my smart phone I have a micro SD card and I could take an adaptor and that would work in the camera.  After the first time, I realized it was a complete pain.  Has anyone else been able to use the micro USB port on their smart phone to view SD cards?

I just swap out the SD cards and view them when I get home. Sometimes I bring a laptop with though and look at them in the pickup if I'm real anxious

I just bring my camera with me and view them on the spot, that way I know if I should move the trailcam or not. They also make some picture viewers just for viewing trailcam photos.

Some of the Android tablets have SD slots too.  A lot of them have gotten pretty cheap.  Of course you will also get some other uses with one if you get one.  I just also ordered an adapter cable off Ebay to plug in to the mico sd slot so I can attach a card reader.  I'm hopeful that this will give me a better view with the much larger screen.   I also have a 7" flat screen TV that has a micro USB plug that I was able to use to check out the photos.  The TV will have the video plug that can be used to attach some older units that don't have cards and only the video out plug.

I usually bring my digital camera and laptop into the field with me. I scan through the photos, and if there is a good buck on it I upload it to my computer immediately... then delete photos off the card and put it back in. i have never used the micro sd thing on a smart phone, so can't help you there. There are also some "viewer" hand held screen things you can buy at scheels/cabelas. They allow you to go through the photos on your sd card, delete, or keep/store the ones you want, and then you can download them when you get home. They run about a $100.

I use my iPad. They have an adapter that runs about $20.  Works in the iPhone also.  You just plug the SD card in.
