This isn't a funny one but a good one anyway. I came across this sigh just this weekend while hunting goats in the badlands. "Hunters welcome with permission from the landowner for access." With a name and phone number on the sign. It's still posted, but it makes a guy like me feal more comfortable knocking on a door to ask. I definitely see this as step in the right direction.

The kill is the satisfying, indeed essential, conclusion to a successful hunt. But, I take no pleasure in the act itself. One does not hunt in order to kill, but kills in order to have hunted. Then why do I hunt? I hunt for the same reason my well-fed cat hunts...because I must, because it is in the blood, because I am the decendent of a thousand generations of hunters. I hunt because I am a hunter.- Finn Aagard

I guess this isn't a funny one either but last rifle season I came across one that said, "YES you can hunt". Thought that was pretty neat.

Fox,

We use to hang up "Ask Before You Enter" signs.  I say use to because some of our stuff is in PLOTS now and we didn't post the remaining stuff.  However, we may need to because people just can't seem to keep their pickup on the trails.  Anyways, my point is that I agree its nice to see signs that encourage asking but I gotta admit, every posted sign should be looked upon in that light....except for maybe some of the above ones!!!

The best I've seen was in a picture submitted last year by a person.  The sign was written with what looks like a paint brush.  In black letters it says "NO SHYSTERS" and is overlaid by a ghostbusters crossed out circle in red paint.  Below the no shysters is smaller black lettering that says "YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE".

That's a pretty funny one.  Maybe I'll scan it and post it in the gallery.

Just put a picture in the gallery of another sign in our county. It is from one of our Anti-Government producers here. Hopefully it will be in there soon. If you can't read it, let me know and I'll let you know what it says.
