Tom on the point

After my hunting partner and I called to different groups of gobblers in the morning and only getting vocal responses we were on our way back to the truck. We got about half way back to the vehicle
Great Day

After harvesting my long beard in the morning, we hit the river and fished around the desert south of Bismarck. Another nice river eye, and a perfect finish to an already great day.
A great day of walleye fishing?

Well the walleyes were slow, but the shooting was fun. Here is my buddy Dusty with a gar and some nice trophy Choads.
Littlest trophy

Fishing on a small Minnesota lake a couple of weeks ago, this little pumkinseed hit my spinner. What a suprise, but even the littlest guys are still fun to catch
Big Bluegill

My buddy Ryan with his whopper 1.85 lb bluegill caught last weekend.
Before and after

Chris was testing his skills on this before and after shot.
Lost goose

I woke up the other morning expecting to see the squirrels and sparrows next to the bird feeder, but these two geese meandered up on the back porch to get there share of bird seed as well.
Scouting for turkeys

The Campcook doing what he loves! We spent the other morning scouting for birds in the hills along the Missouri River, and this just called out for a pic.
Spring Tom

It was only my second morning out this spring, but it was a good one! I managed to call this guy and two others within 15 yards. Unfortunately for him, he just happened to be the bigger of the three.
Snakes in the badlands

I was out in the badlands last weekend and after shooting several prairie dogs, we found ourselves chasing rattlers in the hills. Ended up with 9 and some nice skins for the saddles and display rooms.
Old Glory

It doesn't get much better than this!
Dazes' first duck hunt

Had a great morning shooting a mixed bag of ducks, the pup did pretty good for his first time.
Another new hunter

My buddy's new pup with his first look at birds, highly doubt he'll be pointing these guys next year though.
Drake Pinny

I wish the tail would have been a little longer on this pintail, he would have been on his way to the taxidermist by now
DOUBLE Bull

Called in these two toms within 8 yards and this is the result.
Spring 'Eyes On the River

A nice limit of eyes caught on the river last week.
Spring Long Beard

First archery tom on opening morning.
Nice River Eye

Here's a pic of a 4lb female that was already spawned out. Nicest fish I've taken on the river thus far.
After Work Fishing

We headed out on the river for a couple of hours and kept 8 nice eyes for the dinner table.
Late Night Eyes

Decided to get out with a friend the other night and fish off shore and had a nice stringer of walleyes to show for it.
Silver in Sitka

The biggest Silver I caught while up in AK.
Sitka

Another.
Fishing in Sitka

Spent some time in late June fishing for Salmon. Here's a few pics of the results. All fish were between 20-30lbs.
Shrimpin' in Sitka

We set out 5 pods for shrimp and did fairly well. It looked like two of the pods had been robbed before we got back to collect them the next day though.
Walleyes on the Missouri

Here's a snap shot of one of our recent trips to the Missouri.
Last hunt of the season

Late season roosters in the snow on the last weekend of the 06'-07'. Can't wait till October!
Last day pheasant

This bird was taken the last day of the 06-07 season and had just shy of a 26" tail. I figured it would be a good one to mount, and I was more than pleased when I picked it up!
Badger Close Up

Another look at the badger. He was a tough son of a gun! Took 4 shots with a .222 at 150 yards.
Smelly Bugger!

Dirty and a badger he picked off while prarie dog shooting not too long ago.
Winter Dogs

Dirty, aka Sharp Shooter took this prairie dog's head clean off at 200 yards. It only took 8 shots to do it!
Opening Morning Gobblers!

I called these two birds in, and my Dad and buddy did the rest! Two birds on two set ups, not a bad way to start the season.
Dad's First Long Beard

I called this bird in and was fortunate enough to get most of it on film. It was the first time using two Double Bull blinds in a set up and it didn't phase the birds one bit.
Up on the Sitka - Photo Two

Sea lions came from Sealion Rock. Appears to be a brand on this one?
Up on the Sitka

A nice salmon I was able to latch into while up in Alaska. Had a great time up there again catching several fish and seeing the sites.
More Sealions

This was at a place called Sealion Rock that we were shown while fishing out of Sitka, Ak.
Sealions

The big guys are about the most foul smelling animals I have been around, but they are fun to watch...even when they're stealing a salmon off your line.
Puffin

These are neat little birds to watch. This little guy was hanging around the boat waiting for some leftover herring while we were fishing for halibut.
Bachelor Party

A couple with some potential.
Bachelor Party -- another look

Taken with a Moultrie game camera.
Evening buck

We'll see if he's a shooter once I see him in person.
Goofy looking fella

This is the only deer that we've caught on camera that seemed to notice the camera.
By the way no bait was used to obtain these pics. Just alot of time and work.
Two Guys and A Dog

Pic of Dad and I after he shot his last bird to fill his limit. It was a long walk back to the truck and my dog's tongue hangin' out proves it!
Day Two of Opening Weekend

Another pic of my hunting buddy after a great morning of wing shooting on the prairie. Thanks again to the landowners that provided us a great place hunt once again!
Opening Day 2008

Here's my fox red lab posing for the camera after a great hunt! This old building and the hay bales we found on the way home looked like they were set there for photo ops. It turned out to be a great
First Whitetail Buck With a Bow

The wind was wrong that day so I sat in what we call the "sleeper" stand that evening, the only one condusive to a south wind. I was in the stand at 2 and was half a sleep when I caught movement
Big SD Mule Deer

Ah yeah, nice one!
Big SD Mule Deer

This is one of my friend's high school buddies with his SD mule deer. It was taken near Lemmon. Haven't seen many mulies of this size in the Dakotas.
1st Tom...Another Look

Just another pose showing off his first western ND badlands bird.
1st Time...First Tom

I called this bird in for my cousin Saturday evening. Being 14, it was his first turkey hunt and we both had a blast!
Late Night Bird

After two birds on the ground on Saturday I thought I'd try one more setup before dark to get one myself. I worked this bird in from 500 yards out to point blank range. Only had 4 minutes of legal
Late night eye

Decided to throw the waders on for a bit and this was the nicest of the fish caught that night.
Casting at sundown

Sunset over the water
Fishing for the Halibut

Campcook with a 37# halibut. Not a giant but bigger than the normal chicken halibut (10-20#) we usually catch.
Kings Among Kings

Campcook and I with a pair of 28# kings caugh out of Sitka, AK. Fox Island Outfitter
Dan\'s Buck

I brought Dan with me to deer camp this year and he shot this buck the first night we were in stand. We watched 15 or so different bucks chase does, breed, fight, etc. before this one came in to 70
Archery Doe

Now if I\'d have the same luck with the bucks. This girl came in directly downwind of my stand and walked right up to my ladder and licked one of the rails. She must have smelt my hands or the scent
Dock Dogs?

I'm not sure he'll make the cut!

My 15 year old cousin, a good friend and myself enjoyed great hunt in the badlands! This is my cousins 2nd gobbler in two years, but his first with a bow!! He's now addictied to bow hunting!
Turkey Hunting in the ND Badlands 2009

I didn't get my bird, but had a chance with the old 1953 recurve bow. I did call both of these birds in for my cousin and buddy to shoot though.
Turkey Hunting in the ND Badlands 2009

The birds are down in western ND, but I managed to call in 8 mature toms on this trip.
Muleys!

I don't think I've ever seen so many deer and antelope! Looks like they faired pretty well though the winter.
Public Land

Did a little exploring into some new areas and found some beautiful country!
Sunday Shootin!

Had a few rifles that we wanted to get sighted in and figured we'd get out before the wind blew. Here's a pic of my buddy's personal target range behind the ranch.
Sunday Sunrise

Got up early this morning...glad I did.
The gauntet

Lots of people on the water!
Intensity

Campcook focusing on his jigging.
A few for supper

We found a few eaters for tonights supper. Perfect size, 16-19" fish for the plate!
Pheasants

I guess this is what happens when little blue pills get mixed in with some feed for the wildlife!
A Glimpse of Sun

Just scrolling through some photos and I forgot how much I enjoyed this one. I took it a couple years while fishing in Sitka. It's gonna be a long three weeks till I go back!
Awaiting the knife

A limit of nice eaters
That's a big hill to climb!

Moma goose waiting for her goslings to come up the bank. It was pretty funny watching the clumbsy little guys work their way up the sand.
Almost...

The sand kept giving way.
Rapala

A different perspective.
Eagle on perch

Bald eagle just landing in the harbor
Whale tail

A couple of humpbacks were hanging around the boat and I was able to capture this picture. Tricky buggers to get a good picture of.
Waiting for a bite.

Trolling downriggers there's plenty of time to take some pics.
Sealion Rock

Stopped by to take some pics of the thieves! We lost 3 king salmon to them. Not much a guy can do with a 600lb sealion on the other end of your line!
Cleaning the catch

Halibut getting rinsed before it gets the knife.
Taking a picture.

Thought I'd snap a photo of Joe enjoying the scenery in Sitka, AK.
Halibut

A nice 31lber and a perfect eater!
Silver Salmon

A nice little bonus Coho for the day. Ended up with 9 of em throughout the week, sure helps fill the box!
First King!!

My buddy Joe's first King Salmon on his first fishing trip to Alaska.
Antelope Scouting

Scouted a good portion of the southwest part of ND last week and only saw this buck. Closest I could get to him without spooking.
Antelope Scouting

From my observations it looks like the antelope herds in ND took a big hit from the winter. This is the only herd I came upon while scouting. Couldn't quite tell, but there might be a buck in the
Dickinson Tornado Damage

While in Dickinson I took a quick drive through tornado alley. All that's left of this house!
This says it all!

Written on a house that was destroyed by the tornado in Dickinson
Potential?

Maybe next year?
hmmm

What will you look like in September?
Early Season Geese

Had a good shoot with the guys on Sunday. They got 19 on Sat. and we got 17 more on Sunday.
Just trying to do our part in keeping the numbers down...and having a heck of a good time doing so!
3 guys, 3 limits, and a case of shells!

A little early season dove hunting to get the fall going!
No 80 yard pin needed!!!

We had a great Friday of hunting and I ended it doing a fun spot and stalk on this buck! I was able to close the distance to about 30 yards and he got curious as to what I was and walked
Doubled Up!

Had a great year and a blast this weekend! Finally took a nice buck with my bow on Thursday evening at 18 yards(the last two I've killed with a bow have been the day before the gun opener) and I should
First buck!

I had the pleasure of taking my Uncle and my cousin on my cousin's first deer hunt last weekend. We had a great time and created some wonderful memories!
Congratulations Cuz on a great first buck!
8 minute shoot!

Hunted in frigid temps yesterday and the birds came off the water late. We shot the first 2 at 1:43pm and had our other 7 by 1:51! Not much time to spare, but 12 came in before the buzzer and we had
Last hunt of the season. Great start to 2010!

Three of us went out for one last hunt in the snow. Birds were everywhere and so bunched up that there were times I couldn't shoot as I'm sure if I would have, 10 or so birds would have fallen.
Rub line

Every post on our land has been hit hard the last 2 years by bucks. They were never touched till then though.
Deer Skull

Shed hunting only turned up this skull and looked to have been on the ground quite some time.
Trail

Walked along some well used winter trails looking for sheds, but no luck.
Another trail

Followed this one as well. Still no luck finding sheds.
Get the #$%@ gun!!

Had another outstanding year in Sitka, AK again! Caught lots of salmon and halibut, but here's a pic of the biggest I've caught up there in the last 6 years. It went 60#'s on the nose. Salmon were
Ready for the net

A nice king tiring at the boat
Browns

1st time in 6 years in Sitka that I've seen any bears. A sow and her year old cub stayed around the shore quite awhile for photos and video.
Sitka Scenery

Scenery is pretty tough to beat, even on a cold, rainy, windy day!
2010 Bow Buck

The day before the rifle opener continues to be my lucky day! I grunted this 5x5 into 8 yards and decided to let him have it. He's my biggest archery deer at 147 1/4" and is going to look
2010 Bow Buck 2

Another look.
I also managed to arrow a nice doe on Weds morning, so it was a good week and I'm glad to have filled my tags before the orange army made it's presence!
Photo Contest

This one is a few years old now, but it's one of my favorites of my hunting buddy Daze after a great hunt with a good friend and our Dads.
2010 Archery Buck Mount

Picked up my mount the other day and hung it up in my my office at home. Looks great and the taxidermist did a great job with the split ear. I loved the cape on this guy with the dark face and darker
2010 Bucks

My archery buck and walleyeslammers rifle buck from 2010. Great bucks and great looking mounts! Looking forward to seeing campcook's mount when it's done! It was a great year in deer camp!
2011 Spring Turkey

After tons of scouting and several trips to the field I was finally able to put an arrow into a bird at 12 yards. First hunt on video as well, granted by the time we were set up till the arrow flew
Bedded Buck

Dad has a prized anter mule deer tag this year so I did a little scouting last week. Found this guy bedded and was able to get close enough to get a pic of him. At first I didn't think he was much
Mixed Bag

Had a good shoot with some friends. Started the day off with a buddy filling his turkey first thing in the morning. Great morning of wing shooting as the birds came easy and the dogs did great!
Herd Management

Took this nice doe with one of my concurrent tags a couple weeks ago.
Gave me a good shot at 20 yards and I hit her just a bit further back then I wanted. A minute later I hear a huge crash that
