Fishing partner wanted.

Thought I'd throw this out there real quick. If anyone has any room on their boat I'd love to come out and fish with you. I'm a 24 year old male, just got out of the military, originally from Minot, now living in Grand Forks. I like fishing cats, trout, walleye, and perch. I have a little experience fishing, looking to get into it a lot more. I don't have money for a boat with my son on the way next month. I'd of course be willing to help pay for gas and what not...let me know, send me a message. Thanks.

I'd be willing to take you out!  PM me with your number and we'll hit Devils Lake.  I live in Valley City so we could meet in Lakota and get after'em from there.  I usually chase walleyes, but I am in no way a walleye purist.  I mostly jig fish, but have done a fair amount of bottom bouncing with spinners and casting cranks in the shallows too.  I have a 18.5 foot alumacraft with a 135 so we can take some waves if need be.  Though I prefer to avoid them if I can.  Thank you for your service, I've got 19 years in so far and plan for at least 6 more.  Welcome to the site!

You are right. I will just take him out there to show him that. No one should ever fish the river, ever.

GF? Jigem-Up-Josh may be able to help you out.

Is it impious to weigh goose music and art in the same scales? I think not, because the true hunter is merely a noncreative artist. Who painted the first picture on a bone in the caves of France? A hunter. Who alone in our modern life so thrills to the sight of living beauty that he will endure hunger and thirst and cold to feed his eye upon it? The hunter. Who wrote the great hunter's poem about the sheer wonder of the wind, the hail, and the snow, the stars, the lightnings, and the clouds, the lion, the deer, and the wild goat, the raven, the hawk, and the eagle, and above all the eulogy to the horse? Job, one of the great dramatic artists of all time. Poets sing and hunters scale the mountains primarily for one and the same reason--the thrill of beauty. Critics write and hunters outwit their game primarily for one and the same reason--to reduce that beauty to possession. The differences are largely matters of degree, consciousness, and that sly arbiter of the classification of human activities, language. If, then, we can live without goose music, we may as well do away with stars, or sunsets, or Iliads. But the point is we would be fools to do away with any of them.

It's at the point now where I can fish it in 2 different spots. One is where my boat is parked. I don't start fishing the main river until it drops to 30 feet.

Yes, they sure are. I'm gonna try to fish this evening and if I feel like it I'll take some pics.

PM him AF Dave, you'll probably get a more timely response. Not sure if he checks this topic very often.
